Good advice on learning the position before learning the entries. Once again, I thank you sir.

Nice job. Not too many people seem to want to cover points on X guard. Thanks for the video.

if you can use the butterfly guard decently you will end up in positions like that because guys think the best way to pass your guard is to stand up and jump over your guard or something like that basically get good at stoping guard passes with the butterfly guard and the oppertunity to use the x guard will naturally come to you. if they can't pass your guard on their hands and knees they're going to stand up. just my experience. :)

Youre so right. Especially wrestlers who flee the guard and go for a cheese open guard pass.

Hey Stephen, I really enjoy the videos you put up. I find them extremely educational, and that they help fine tune my techniques very well with the details that you add in. I'm just wondering where about your gym is located as I would like to come train with you one day; hopefully in the not too distant future! Cheers

To the author of this video. Can you make a video discussing about the 50-50 guard. What are the common mistakes, how to properly execute it and how to escape it. Thanks.

The xguard truly is 80% of the way through a sweep. I've found it to be such a dominant position (once you get there), and I'm a very small guy who's only been using it for a week or so.

JaxenChaz Simplest scenario would be defending some sort of standing guard pass... or a sweep from below, like from half guard, that's being defended well

This is awesome! But I'd love to know how to gain this position.

Speaking of the most common errors, I find myself constantly misplaced while trying to set up the X-guard. The mistake to watch out for is being too far away from your opponent's legs.

Could the guy on top just sit down on top off you though, especially a heavier guy?

235lber here. If I try that, it allows the person to sweep me. Even the 145lbers.

You see at about the 4:00 mark how you are holding his knee? For argument sake, if his knee was to give in the "reaping" motion is that grounds for disqualification? I'm not being a critic or a hater, just out of legit interest.
