His personal beliefs seem to have been closest to what was called Positive Christianity, which was an attempt to Aryanise Christianity and to stress the active/dynamic aspects of the Jesus story. Actually... All claimed Gods use reason and evidence. They have evidence you existed and evidence of all your actions throughout life. The claimed God then REASONS if you go to the naughty place or not. Some theists state there's no naughty place, but when I speak of striking their claimed God down, they ALWAYS change their mind (Seems to effect them personally SO odd). Anyway, since we now understand that all claimed Gods use evidence and reason. Then clearly atheists withholding belief due to lack of evidence and reason, would be highly respected and understood by any all knowing claimed God. Next There's the issue of what do we do as higher intelligence to all other species? Let's say cows (but I could even use ants, any species). We farm them, fenced up, and mostly slaughter them for meat. Really old cows are unheard of. BUT, if a cow stands above the rest (shows high intelligence or independence from the flock/cattle/sheep, then the farmer SPARES that individual cow, and uses another one for his last supper (of the day). Now we have TWO good reasons to show you are better off atheist IF a God exists. I have a 3rd one (but I worry about ppl getting bored on long posts, we shall see if you like it). Wouldn't it be reasonable of a God to make atheists his angels with wings? Because they would be doing exactly what they did in life. Helping others see reason. Whereas! Theists believe they should NOT reason at all, but better to praise their God. Therefore God would continue allowing them to praise him (Unless he slaughters them) forever. Just like in their life ;) Now we have THREE advantages of being an atheist IF a God exists. :)

@@erkkijunkkarinen9303 possibly; if that person attacks you because you caused the accident, then you have an argument for self defense. If you are attached by indestructible handcuffs, someone put those cuffs on the two of you. If it was done by the other person in the cuffs, you have every right to do what is needed to regain your freedom, as they have illegally restrained you, which is a form of attack. It can't be done by the courts, as that's not only outside the bounds of punishment they can give out, but it also punishes the person you hurt, because they could suffer emotional trauma from being forced to be attached to the person who hurt them. But it all still boils down to you have a right to bodily autonomy. If it was done by some third party, then I would think the two of you would want to seek them out and make them release you early, as that's denying both of you the right to bodily autonomy. Technically, sensation/perception are not cognition either. At least from a functionalist/cognitivist perspective, cognition is information processing, which occurs *after* sensations reach the nervous system. This includes working memory (the maintenance and manipulation of information over short time periods, such as memorizing a sequence of digits and then reversing them mentally). Cognitive science PhD here.

@@spookyactionatadistance1316 Exactly, thoughts and emotions are in an endless feedback loop, each driving the other. Obviously these are not 100% reliable, and we ended up with a much-loved child, who just turned 21. Regarding two authors both writing about the perfect crime: A dutch author's wife went missing, and after the whole commotion was over he wrote a book about the possible ways he could have murdered her. That manuscript wasn't published at that moment. A few years later people found her body in his old garden and he was arrested. The way she was murdered and hidden were described in that manuscript (which was published after he served his sentence). Nothing to do with thought police, but just some trivia that popped up in my head.

Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.” Leviticus 25: 44-46 “You may purchase male and female slaves from among the nations around you […] You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance.” Exodus 21:20 “If a man beats his male or female slave with a club and the slave dies as a result, the owner must be punished. If, however, he survives a day or two, no vengeance shall be taken for he (the slave) is his property” Exodus 21:2 “If you buy a Hebrew slave, he shall serve for six years, but on the seventh shall go out as a free man without payment” Exodus 21:7 “When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are” 1 Peter 2:18 “Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel.”

I think there's more in between lines. Such as we are all slaves to the claimed God. Love is a form of slavery to your partner. So is work whilst at work. I'm not saying this is justified, but slavery in the Bible has a lot of tangents, and that's why it's a big subject. Now resolved of course.

@@kimsland999 the Bible was not written for a university-educated public. It was written for poor uneducated people. The most obvious interpretation is the correct one. @@zenon3021 You know their God's intent? Since I'd agree illiteracy was common back then (I mean 400 years later it was no shock the claimed Prophet, Muhammad was illiterate). But, I suspect the Bible was NOT made for people who could not read it. I suspect it was a guide to those educated slave masters. I can show this because other nations were meant to be slaves (According to the Bible) and NOT meant to be given Bible's to learn from (initially). Nor were women educated either! Therefore it was not written for the uneducated.

@@kimsland999 their god has no intent - he's a mythical character from a fantasy-fiction book with talking animals, talking trees, zombies, dragons, etc. It was probably also used as a guide for American slave owners who could morally justify owning black people as slaves by pointing to those 6 Bible passages and saying god's cool with it. @kimsland999
2 жыл бұрын
They don't hear the question. They hear an attack. From a young age they are instructed to NOT question thy God! (Lol). To give you an example, it would be like questioning you: Why don't you love Jesus? The question can't be honestly answered by you. If you say you don't hate Jesus, or you don't believe in Jesus, both don't answer the specific question. The question was: Why don't you love Jesus? It wasn't do you believe in him or not. Can you see how when Christains are asked why do you believe? They are taken back! Such a question has never entered their mind, ever. Thus they begin speaking of something else kinda related. Science (Psychology) has an answer to their issue. Literally the neurons in their brain about questioning their God belief, don't exist. Thus it takes time to grow these connections that have not been used since they were 6. The recovery is a process. It takes time. Once they hear these questions again and again, they'll be able to work out that: They don't have any reason to believe in a God at all. And questions like: Why don't you love Jesus? Will sound silly to them (as it should).

AT 57:34) I have exactly the same assessment of subjects like rape. Some people say - well is it immoral. I say yes. Then someone can say well it is really about spreading the gene, irrespective of the delivery of the gene. I'm like Matt in saying that I look at the WELLBEING of the individual. SO yes, the delivery of the gene through rape can be carried out, but DUE to the trauma of the delivery of the gene - AKA rape - the person who was raped suffers many sideeffects of the trauma. She can (and should) look into abortion, leaving the entire action pointless, and now suffers the trauma for life. Yes, I'm breaking it down to the bare minimum basics, but it's simply to show my point that rape, for no matter what reason, is wrong in every possible way. It is immoral, unethical, unproductive, in fact -destructive. What is scary is how many people need this level of explanation before something finally clicks in their heads.
