The 92X is one of my favorite pistols. I have shot several pistols throughout the years and I rarely get excited about a new one for a familiar series. But man this 92X is a favorite. I have a couple videos of shooting it and I am impressed with the improvements compared to the FS and M9 variants.

Everyone talks about new Glock and Sig service guns. But I gotta say the new Berreta 92x guns are extremely impressive. My 1st gun was a Berreta Centurian. And that was in the early 90's. With the new alloys I'd like to see someone do an updated comparison on service side arms and see how these new 92 series pistols compare. Never count Beretta out.

Thanks for your review. I was hoping Beretta was making a real G model but this pistol is equipped with Beretta's G conversion kit which protrudes too far out on the right side!

Hey you pointed out something I hadn't really looked at. After looking at the M9A3 in videos you can see the right side safety lever is shaped different. Overall the 92X doesn't stick out any further than the M9A3, overall width, but it does have a squared off shoulder as it comes out of the slide. It isn't contoured to look smaller like the M9A3. It appears they are just putting the G conversion kit in the 92X. I put one in my 92A1 and it works perfect but I see it doesn't look as good as the M9A3 even though it functions the same. Too bad Beretta didn't offer the conversion to look like the factory A3 safety lever.

@@mrweeby1961 Yea I like the look of the original G version which has a machined G de-cocker slide not the G conversion lever which sticks out too far. I have two Wilson Combat Beretta 92g pistols and like them a lot better than the standard Beretta 92's!

It looks a lot better than the retro fit kit lever does. They function the same though. I put one on my 92A1 and it works great. Again it's too bad Beretta didn't make the kit look like the originals.

I've seen 17, 15, and 10rd mags. My 92X Centurion came with 3 17rd mags (got it today); however, I only carry it with MecGar FLUSH 18rd mags and maybe a few MecGar 20rd mags. I'll likely sell these 17rd mags for cheap to fund MecGars. I got mine for $579 new online, and there's a $100 rebate...so I got it for $479!!!!!!!!!!!!! -- NOTE: I also installed the Langdon trigger job, a WC enhanced hammer, a WC short reach trigger, and a 12# spring hammer spring--now my DA pull is right at 7lbs (I want 6.5#) and my SA is about 3.4 (I want 3.25#). :)

That's right. The full length/size frame comes with 15 or 17rd magazines, depending on model (not including the commie 10rd mags lol). I too have a G model Centurion 92X coming. It will have three 17rd mags, the same as my 92A1 came with. The G.I. size has always been 15rds. There's really no reason for Beretta to continue putting 15rds in with pistols with a full size grip but they do.

I just got a 92x compact but without the rail. Came with 3 13 round magazines. I swapped in a Wilson Combat hammer, mag guide and trigger conversion unit for longevity and reduced power and the low profile single sided safety. I use there G conversion on my full size Berettas but it's to big and sticks out to far IMO for a compact or carry gun. When I started watching the video I was hoping that they didn't both have rails. Nothing wrong with them, my INOX compact has a rail. Just hoping to find a video on the one I got.

You are correct but I wasn't referring to the main or hammer spring. I was referring to the trigger return spring that is available in stock and reduced power versions. It is called a Wilson Combat Trigger Conversion Unit. Sorry for the confusion, I'll edit my original post.

There are only a handful of pistol types, even though I have plastic framed ones too, that I would consider a "If I could have only one and it last a lifetime" pistol. For me personally it comes down to materials it's made from and quality of the firearm overall. They are SIG 226, Beretta 92, CZ75 and the old tried and true 1911. Variants of these. I have the most experience with Beretta and 1911 though. The Beretta 92 series, there are many variants out there. I've yet to find one that wasn't a high quality piece, even the old 92S surplus imports. I like the looks, build quality, many customization options, accuracy. Now the prices are dropping I think because they lost the military contract. If I had to decide between, let's say, 3 models and price were no issue it would be the M9A3, Wilson Combat models or the Langdon Tactical LTT models. They are on the higher end price wise though. Stock Beretta mass produced would be the 92A1, M9A1 or the latest the 92X. Then you have to pick which size, Compact (13rd w/ shorter barrel), Centurion (15/17rd w/shorter barrel) or Full Size (15/17rd w/full length barrel, 4.9"). Some people don't like the large diameter grip area. Go hold one, if you feel it's too fat then look at the 92X models. They have the "Vertec" grip which is straight on the back strap (like a 1911 but double stack). Fits smaller hands. People also complain about the double action/single action triggers. SIG226 and CZ75 also have this system. I have zero issues with it. It comes down to training, spending time shooting it to get used to it. Seems like everyone now is on the poly frame striker fired craze. I also have them, Glock, S&W, Springfield, Beretta. They are great and do their job and are simpler. But back to the "IF I could only have one pistol for a lifetime" idea it wouldn't be any poly/striker pistol. Having/had 8 different Beretta 92 variants I can confidently say they are an excellent choice. The problem is deciding which model/features you want. And cost of course. Edit: I forgot one thing. Magazine cost and ease of finding. They are everywhere. They are cheap compared to say SIG. I regularly get them from Beretta and have caught them on sale as low as $15 shipped for 17rd factory mags. Or you could get the excellent MecGar brand too.
