I love learning about the history of Magic. Truly the Wild West of MTG back then, back when the game was much less popular or renown, no sleeves, rowdy audience, no internet sites to browse for deck ideas (at least not to the extent we have now). Original decks abounded and created what we now know to be obviously insane combos but back then, no one seemed to understand thier worth. I'd love to see more videos like this!

Love this episode and the chart party infulence but I think it still need a little work before it good. I think the slides showing the board states and the end of each turn dont convey what happen that turn very well. Especially with how fast they move to people unfamiliar with the decks. I think showing what spell were cast (or cards used like necro or treetop) each turn would do a better job at showing what actually happened each turn way better than lands + card in hand at the end of each turn. Like showing what hand destruction happen or what spell got countered need to be front and center when you are showing so many broad states and turn all at once. Keep of the fucking work tho, love this series

The presentation of a game is remarkably poorly done. At 9:42 why is Unmask shown for only 1 second? 9:45 What does Grief have to do with a subject? This shit at 17:17 is unbearable. Music is often too loud. I understand most cards used (not all) and can barely follow. Some better way is needed to make videos like this.

I started in 95' and I remember two matches: PT Paris where Mike Long won with ProsBloom and this match. When I was teenage, a little younger than Davis, I attended a good sized extended tournament in Chicago prior to Time Spiral's banning (Spring 2000 maybe?). In spite of all the Time Spiral Blue floating around, I made it to day two at that tournament with a rogue deck list, sort of like Davis' deck. I still have fond memories of that event, such as seeing people using Alpha & Beta Black Lotuses unsleeved (not part of the tournament). I'd never do it again, but it provided some interesting perspective.
