Besides storage, a bigger well house may be good in case you have poor water quality and need to put a filter or softener in there. Also, you may want to put a solar system in there to keep water going even if power goes out. Look at Keeping It Dutch's setup that he had to do for the sulfur.

We had to learn all that "well stuff" too as we transition to our farm. We went with 1.5hp pump for the same reasons as Shannon said. Suggestion: if you build a structure over the well again, make a section of the roof removeable so you can lift the pump out of the well and replace it in the future.

The thorns look like wild rose bushes. When we first moved in we had one growing in the back yard. I dug it up and put it over next to the garage. Every year we get a thousand or more rose blooms that are about an inch in diameter and a dark pink. The bad part is that it get wild shoots that have to be cut back every year so the blooms will grow. I finally bought a pair of elbow length welding gloves that let me do that chore without losing any blood. They are beautiful but can be painful. They spread and grow back fast if cut down the only way to stop them from growing I have found is to dig them up after they have been cut short enough to get past the thorns so you can pull them out or they will come back over and over. I don't think your dad will get angry over a few scratches on the mower. The way he talks to the animals he has to be a good hearted man. He also cares about how his yard looks so I don't think he'll get upset about you wanting the same thing. Your property is looking better every video. When will you start on your house?

PS… Kyle your Dad is such a calm cool guy, that I think He is not going to be too upset about what you did with the mower, especially when he sees how beautiful the land turned out. Anybody who’s had acreage, has use their mower for more than it was maybe meant to be used for but all you have to do is either sharpen the blades, or buy new blades then maybe give it a good cleaning and change the oil. ALL of these things are within your Control ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️😊😊

Hi, Kyle and Shannon from coastal Mississippi! I’ve had a well since 1963. My advice for a well house is to make a small one. Sometimes, the well has to be “pulled” because the inner pipe needs to be made longer if the water table drops or the filter on the bottom of the pipe might fall off. My husband wanted a large well house built for storage. When the well man came out, they drilled a hole in the roof so they could pull the pipe. If you build the well house so the roof comes off or will open up, then they could work on the well without drilling holes in the roof or having to tear the roof off. It’ll save time and work for you later down the road. Your property is looking amazing!

I think they are the highly despised multi flora rose. Spreads terrible. Must bush hog routinely to keep under control. On some old home places that used to graze cattle on the hillsides, and therefore had clear ground, are now unusable due to all the overgrown wild rose bushes. I don’t think goats even like them.

I would build with the old material you remove. Take the whole thing down slab footings and all including s and pour a new one and build a new building. Then you know all is good and you have extra storage. You want to have a well house big enough to work on the well and piping and storage tank. If it's just big enough to house it, you will regret it. Make the roof or a wall removable if you ever have to pull a pump or pipe going into the well. Ise poly pipe rather than rigid to make sure removing anything much easier.
