The trigger is motivation or reasoning within the mind so as in the idea of and then.........yes the cycle begins again & again. It's the power of circles like cells like atoms it's MATTER OF FACT. When BP said "Take that money bag of your head", I had a light bulb moment. The bag over the head isn't just to show a visual metaphor of people being faceless and a part of the money game, but also to show that our minds are more valuable than money. It's something that big corporations look to "steal", in the same way a robber would steal cash from a till.

It's not entirely a "one take", Ren said it has one cut in it, but it had to. He explained why on his Twitch live stream after the song dropped. Also, the guy who walked up to the piano is a classically trained pianist Ren knows and he took over where Ren left off. Ren also wrote all the music, including the orchestral part.

I think that one of the important things Ren points to in this amazing piece, is that much of Jimmy's trajectory came from trying to gain his father's approval, and the conditioning he (and all of us) was given, that fed into his value system. There are cycles in life, but so many of them are cycles of trauma - be it intergenerational, cultural, familial - cycles of abuse that are meant to be broken. That's what Money Game always seems to be asking me - how can we begin cycles of healing instead of harm? We have normalized so much of what goes on in the world today, as if it is our nature. And it's not. But it means remembering and connecting to the truth that we aren't separate...there are no sides. We are all part of the problems, but that also means we all have the potential to be part of the solutions to making our world a better place. Sorry for the ramble.

I love the behind the scenes story of this song. Yamaha provided the piano for free, and it was the most expensive piano that Ren had ever played. So in a lot of the down time Ren and Charlie (the pianist who played the piano for the song) would just play the piano. I can relate to that. I will never forget the time i went to a piano showroom and played a piano that was worth £400K! I wasn't aware of the cost at the time. I just played the piano for about half an hour and told the guy "Wow, i love this piano! Can i buy it? How much is it? When he told me it was *four hundred thousand pounds* I didn't dare touch it again!

My take: the money game creates weapons. It also creates physical and mental pain that we experience in life (whether self inflicted or put on us by others), so it’s a weapon in itself. Double entendre. The trigger sound at the end obviously has a meaning within the story, but pulling the trigger on a money game could be destroying its power over you by changing your perspective. Rather than physically pulling the trigger against your head, it could be flipping a switch in your brain and saying ‘hey, I’m not gonna let this run my life anymore’. Money is something we need in today’s society, but by minimising greed and thirst for power, we get to enjoy the little things like running down the street as a kid and spending time with loved ones. That’s winning the game.

@1individeo
Жыл бұрын
@@thehangingparsiple5692 When the camera reaches the back of the wheelchair everything goes black. That is where the cut is made. When doing this kind of invisible cuts you're looking for one of two things: A very shadow part of the footage or a part with a straight line (a tree, a building corner or a door like they did in Murderer Video: there is a cut at the moment when Ren is leaving the building and going outside, they used the dorway to make the cut). But in this case they used both: The straight line of the side of the wheelchair and the dark shadow of the wheelchair. The fact that they combined these two techniques make it easier to hide the cut. But didn't work as well at the mirror part when Ren removes the bag from his head.

The actual quote is "the love of money is the root of all evil" which is accurate. Money itself is neither evil nor good but people make sacrifices for what they love and what people who love money sacrifice is genuinely evil. Especially if their only goal is get more money at any cost and never being satisfied no matter how much they have. That's why so many of the richest people in the world have the largest pile of skeletons in there closet and some of those skeleton are not at all metaphorical. Take the people who get rich off the cobalt trade, what are they sacrificing? The lives of children who die a horrible death. Children who are enslaved to mine cobalt in conditions worse than just about any human history. Children they have never met, never seen and know nothing about except that their wealth is dependent on the death of those children and yet they make that sacrifice, many of them even have kids of their own, even though they have so much money they could change it but they don't. Every electronic device that has anything to do with cobalt was only possible because of the death of children. That's what the love of money is, exploitation and death.

Hi. Don't normally sign in but have to say thanks for being you and doing what you do. Your reactions are thought provoking and your openness is a treat to watch. Like Ren, you manage to keep it real, but still entertain & inform. I came here first because of Ren. I stay here [mostly lurking silently] because of what you do and how you do it. Don't change a thing [except perhaps that beat skip in the Boys Are Back In Town intro 😀] I've learned an awful lot about Rap & Hip Hop since Hi Ren dropped last December and also learned a lot about human beings. Music has been with me since I was five years old and is more important to me than food [even Mushy Pease]. It never gets boring as there's always someone else to discover. Ren's path and the people that have intersected with it and the amazing bonds it has created between people from all over the world but will probably never meet give me hope for the human race. One day, maybe just maybe, we'll stop pointing fingers, creating bogeymen and dropping bombs and actually start to be what we should and could be if we all put our minds to being positive instead of negative. United we stand. Big thanks to everybody involved in both the reactions and the reacted to. One day we'll all be telling our Grandkids 'This was the first time I heard Hi Ren' ...

You probably have made the connection at this point, but the hook in Money Game 1 & 2 is "Rain, rain, rain, rain. A Storm it comes my way" By the time Jimmy is 45, guess what? It's raining.

I think you need to watch the end of Rens competition and that money game. I think you’ll be pinching yourself with that excited “ I just said that!!!” In a personal note. I kinda agree with the cycle thought, every natural element runs in a cycle. Once again, great reaction and conversation.

I can't wait to see Wolf's documentary of the making of this. The cameraman Sam & fellows treated our view as part of the "play" making us a participant. I imagine them dancing around stage like a royal ballet.

I think that Ren has recognized the reaction video community and knows that it will boost within, which is an introspective acknowledgement of his own impact on this KZitem money game...
