Doug, great video! You got me into carving little dudes. I'm in love with your hillbillies and tonight I did your oddie tribute to Mike Shipley. It was my 2nd carving of yours, the first was a bear I got from a branch in California on a trip with the family. Not sure what type of tree it was but followed your steps and the wood was really hard so it made it tough. Thanks again for your videos and keep up the carving vids. Dean

Very nice to see this video! You really have carving skills. A cute little guy was born there in the woods. I do a kind of same thing, and it is really relaxing and fun. Right now I am working on an outdoor preist. I will put out a video later, showing how I make him. Atb Tove in Norway - we follow you after this video.

Great video! You did released him! I read that sycamore is a hard wood to carve with hand tools but you were doing it. Was the wood still a little bit moist?

What I don't understand is why do you ALWAYS have new equipment? Like back pack and cooking crap...THis stuff should be worn a little. I do like and am learning from your carvings... You need to have your nature stuff more realistic.

Hey Hughie -problaby not in the near future.im not much of a gear reviewer but if I do it will be after I have used for 6-12 months and to be honest I'm not sure I will have that long.it was nice to have backpacking but I choose a hatchet over a big knife anyday where weight is not an issue
