@@deedeeen I was very passionate about English and dedicated to my studying schedule. I still am, but I have been trying to do the same thing now but with my French. I had a private tutor and studied a lot in my free time. The real game-changer for me was my exposure to the language. I read tons of books and listened to English every single day. I am detail-oriented so every little thing caught my attention. I had a whale of a time, so if you are not even 18, there is no rush. Enjoy the journey, because once you take it, what´s there for you? I always compare my journey towards CPE to watching Friends (or pick any series that you adore)...how I wish I could watch it for the first time. Same for my CPE journey...I had a blast and I wish it had never ended :)

Ben, I watched all your videos regarding the CPE certificate and what I can tell you folks, it's that there were extremely useful. I wish I'd done better, but unfortunately I made some mistakes getting too fixated on the answers that I missed in the listening section and then getting distracted with the other exercises from this same section, however I got a B and an A in the use of English and speaking sections, respectively. I'm going to keep watching your videos Ben, because I'd love to take the Proficiency again, not in the near future, but someday. You're such a great mentor and I really appreciate all your content 💖.

Hello Ben. Thank you for another well-developed, crystal-clear video on the CPE. I recently did the computer-based “Reading and Use of English” part, the same one you displayed in today’s video. I was able to do it in 1 h 29 minutes. I also had the chance to revise parts 1 to 4 in that time. After checking the answer key I found out that I got 6/8 in part 1; 7/8 in part 2; 8/8 in part 3; part 4 is my weakest though: 3/6. I got 4 answers well out of 6 in part 5; 6/7 in part 6; and 7/10 in part 7. Since practice makes perfect, I’ll keep practicing to see if I can score better in the coming months. I plan on taking the exam in November 2023. I’ve watched a large number of your videos, which have been beyond useful. So, thank very much for it all.

What I noticed with all of these exams, especially the writing part, is that it doesn't care how well you know the language and use it in real life, they just want you to learn the exam format and their specific hidden tricks (mostly for a bunch of money). They want you to throw up a bunch of fancy words and structures even if the topic and essay wouldn't call for it and makes your essay look forced. If you try to do that in real life they will laugh at you. I am an academic and for research papers we use a specific "English" and structure, this will be different if you are a chemist, historian etc. none actually taught and used in these exams. So what's the point?
