This is absolutely the PERFECT version of Greenland Fisheries. I was trying to sing it this morning and got choked up thinking about how I'd NEVER be able to replicate the perfection of the Corrie Folk Trio version!!

Agree. I think the Pogues-version is very fine, but this one is better.

The Corrie Folk and Paddy Bell, Went too one of their concerts in London UK, In the early 1960s, It was a joyful gathering. Over.

Funny thing about this song is how different groups change the verse about the captain grieving the drowned fishermen. Some versions have the captain being sad about the whale but devestated about the fishermen. Other versions, like this one, has it the other way around :-D He is sad about the 10 drowned fishermen, but what he's really sad about is how they never caught the whale XD
