The CRAMPS embodied and celebrated everything that was great about American music, art, photography, fashion, cars, and pop culture in general. Lux and Ivy were trendsetters without ever becoming trendy themselves. They were the nucleus of one of the greatest rock and roll bands the United States could lay claim to; always true to their sound, vision, showmanship, and most of all - their loyal fans. They lived the American dream without any strings attached, or apologies given or implied.

I was in a small weekend alternative healing class with Lux and Ivy in Encino, CA. Late 1980's or early 1990's, can't remember exactly. Didn't know who they were at the time, but they did share a bit of their musical background with our class. They were thoughtful and quiet students like the rest of us in the class. By far one of the greatest bands I ever saw live twice in the late 1980s when I was a kid in southern California. If the Cramps ever get together for a tribute to Lux, Iggy Pop would be the best suited to sing in Lux's place. RIP Lux.

@@shaunclubberlang2887 No kidding. I think we can all agree with you but I'd rather have an older cat from the same generation with a deep voice sing in tribute to Lux, and not to attempt to copy him. I don't want to see some younger guy acting like Lux as the lead singer to a Cramps come back tour. Sadly, the Cramps is no more. Even more sad would be to see the rest of the band just whither away. Psychotic Reaction was on what I believe was Los Angeles AM radio station KRLA's greatest hits in 1967 or 68. My favorite song, "Dirty Water," by the Standells was on the album too. Being that The Cramps did Psychotic Reaction which they credit to Count Five, they might consider performing Dirty Water: "Down by the river, along with the lovers, fuckers and thieves. Oh, I love that dirty water." The song has a great beat and the guitar kicks ass. The Cramps should check it out. They'll dig it.
