@@rrt5000 If Iowa wants to win that dual, they need the 5-6 bonus pts. from Spencer at 125. It was smart of Barnett to take top. He did get back points. Spencer is on another level. This is with two healthy knees. Wow. He makes good wrestlers look they don't know what their doing. What's scary is he might be better at freestyle than folkstyle. I don't think people realize how Strong Spencer is. I saw it during when he won free style nationals. Nado was in on his legs. He lifted up Nado and pancaked him. That was will two bad knees. I said this on a post, I think he is sending a message to anyone who might challenge him for the Olympics. Peyton Robb will lose multiple matches. He doesn’t give off the ncaa champ vibe, and has too many close matches, he will probably place 3rd-6th at ncaa. Alirez will lose a couple matches. O’toole has a good chance especially if he beats Griffith and Carr (past ncaa champs), but ultimately Lee will prob get it given he will become a 4x, most likely, and will not even have a close match. Glory may have a good match with him, but if I’m betting on it I say Lee majors him if he doesn’t pin him like he’s doing to everyone else. Starocci wins but nothing too fancy, not a hodge type dominator.

I can't believe you think RBY is in the conversation. The Hodge is Spencer's to lose and only because Yanni dropped one. And you did mention that Spencer's bid might be diminished by lack of competition. That's a legitimate point for one reason. Coming out of high school most guys have grown way past 125. So it's arguable that 125 will always be a suspect competition weight simply because for most really good wrestlers 125 is long ago and far away. It doesn't matter that he pinned a bunch of top ten wrestlers if the top ten wrestlers wouldn't be top ten at the next weight. It is, however, a feather in his hat that he's pinning them. That fact strengthens his dominance. At present, I don't think anyone else has a case.

@@FancoWrestling being a fellow Keystoner and rabid PSU fan I always like seeing the Hodge on home turf. But based on Hodge criteria, I don't think he would even win enough fan votes. Okay, he's undefeated, that helps. He has no previous Hodge hardware. Tech point wins will actually work against him. If the Hodge was based on takedowns......... but it's not. Takedowns don't equal dominance. Nickal and Retherford were a terror. But they had one intent, to close the deal. RBY simply doesn't have that killer instinct. If he doesn't start notching a pile of pins techs won't matter. Based on Hodge criteria Lee is a shoe-in unless he gets blind sided by some upstart who catches him napping.
