Today we're making another cauliflower potato casserole, the creamiest you've ever eaten. This time we make the sauce with cream and this makes the casserole particularly creamy and delicious.
The casserole is a vegetarian recipe and is very easy to make.
Even though this recipe is vegetarian, we like to eat meatballs with it. Because I think meatballs, cauliflower and potatoes in the creamy, creamy béchamel sauce go really well together.
Of course you can also combine and eat it as a veggie recipe with a delicious salad.
So it is a quite versatile recipe without meat that can also be combined well with meat.
Casseroles from the oven are simply delicious and practically make themselves in the oven. And the best thing is the gratinated cheese, you can't get enough of it.

1kg cauliflower frozen or fresh
1.5 kg of potatoes
1 cup cream
80g butter
4 tablespoons flour
2 heaped tbsp vegetable broth
2 liters of water
200g cheese of your choice
spices
salt
pepper
nutmeg
preparation
1. Boil the water and add the vegetable broth.
2. Peel the potatoes and cut into strips that are not too thin.
3. Cook the potato slices with the lid on for 5 minutes.
4. Add the frozen cauliflower and simmer for another 5 minutes with the lid closed.
If you use fresh cauliflower, add the potatoes immediately and simmer for 10 minutes.
5. Drain the cauliflower and potatoes in a colander and collect all of the broth.
6. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
7. Add the flour and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
8. Stir in the cup of cream and allow to thicken.
9. Gradually add a ladleful at a time to the reserved vegetable broth and allow to thicken again.
Repeat until the sauce has reached the desired consistency.
10 Season with 1 tsp salt, pepper and nutmeg. Taste and season if necessary.
11 Cover the bottom of a casserole dish with the sauce
12 Place the cauliflower and potatoes in the casserole dish and pour the remaining sauce over them.
13 Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes.
