Thank you for the wise words. Reminded me of something Carl Jung said: "If you think along the lines of nature, then you think properly". We are nature, and when we're disconnected from nature, we're disconnected from ourselves.

Greetings from Canada. I love watching all of your videos especially talks about how to grow our own food, build our own house, make our own biofuel and purify our own water. I agree with you that these are certainly not taught in schools and certainly leaves a lot of us leaving schools as feeling helpless and totally dependent on the current government system. I have been developing a very diverse permaculture garden and hope to develop further skills to become independent and be ready for potential hard times ahead. God bless you Jon.

It made me happy to see your comment. Many of the people who watch Jon's videos feel discouraged because, unlike Jon, they live in places where it's not easy to build your own house, grow your own food year-round, and live a simple life. Ironically, videos that are inspirational and comforting end up making some feel depressed. Your comment was refreshing. I live in a cold area also, and it was nice reading about how you came up with ways of becoming self-sufficient despite the fact that your weather area is a challenge for year-round farming, for simple building materials, etc. Have you thought of sharing on your channel some of the things you learn and build? I have a feeling other viewers would find that relatable and useful also. ❤

Environmental Engineering is newer program at my university. It started in 2017 and that is when I decided to switch my major. Most students choose a career in environmental permitting, because large companies like Exxon Mobil and BP give us enticing offers. For a couple years, I felt as though the curriculum was not for me. There were no courses available for hydrology. Our city touches Lake Erie and we have so many engineers being produced here. However, it seems that nutrient overload is becoming a problem that is mostly ignored. Students get jobs elsewhere and for other companies. HABs are a problem that affects the world globally. There are only two professors in my program that are studying HABs. From detection to characteristics of microbiology. Recently, they came into my class and spoke to us. Talking about my ambitions to study the source of nutrient overload was very hard. I am not the best at verbal communication. The two professors listened very intently regardless. From what they shared, I was reassured that my decision in 2017 was for the right reason. They have started moving research to the tributaries of Lake Erie, which is where my interest of study lies. Detection of excess nutrient levels is an obstacle that I would like to take a step further. Where is said nutrient level highest, lowest, etc? Can we pinpoint the source? I want to get the larger picture by figuring out through scientific proof that certain sources contribute more to excess nutrient levels than others. I feel very alone at times committing to such a task, but my purpose is true. Finding others that can share the same diversity of thinking is difficult to say the least. Knowing that those professors are there helps ease my mind and the curriculum being updated to include hydrology gives me motivation. There is a crisis of thinking. Students are more worried about the jobs that pay more. Your videos have showed me that solutions to most problems can be simple. My countries seems to make problem-solving complex and value aesthetic over functionality. This program should allow me to show others that diverging from the same path as everyone else is can be beneficial. Staying committed to my cause has enabled me to think about solutions very differently than most students. My life is the epiphany of thinking outside the box. Every waking moment my brain is trying to balance introspection and extrospection. Keeping your mind open to life-long learning is essential to avoid falling victim to group thought and depression.

HONORABLE Sir, Jon Judai. & Team of Channel, Aslamo-Alaikum, hats 🧢 off to y'all from (province Sindh of Pakistan 🇵🇰 🌐) 🤍. One of the finest way you have adopted for eye-opening that in pursuit of accomplishments the path shouldn't be always same as in world 🗺 around we have more than 8 Billion people from different races, different backgrounds, different upbringing but when it comes to choices we select for career it should also be diverse, the beauty of nature and Lord (Almighty Allah) have created through us is diverse so does everything must be unique in different aspects of life the way Sir, you have defined is outstanding, marvellous. Not all people think the same way. There is diversity in thinking across the world. A lot of people do not want to be millionaires and just want to live a simple life. You said everyone wants the same thing and that is not true. The problem is 8 billion people cannot each live on a small family farm to grow their own food and live the peaceful life. Humans were designed to live close to nature and not in dense cities. We are meant to live in small clans. There is meaning and purpose and peace in that lifestyle. People are depressed living in cities away from their connection to the natural world and don't live with extended family members in Western societies. But when people try to move out of the city onto a small plot of land to feed themselves from their land they still have to pay thousands in rent and property taxes yearly. So must you have a stockpile of money for those payments or do you work a job to pay those bills? And what job? Drive to town? You are lucky here in the US to work remotely on a laptop so that you can stay at home and earn money. 8 billion people cannot do it. I've watched many of your videos. I have not heard you mention a solution for how people living in cities can move out to the country with their family and pay their bills and grow their own food. I have worked on five family farms in the US. None of them were able to support themselves and all had to rely on another source of income other than selling veggies and meats. In many parts of the world it is possible to live that way because they have street markets and vendors who have a table and sell whatever they grow or make. There aren't nearly as many rules to control the life of their citizens. You try to have a street full of vendors in America and you get fined and thrown out unless each person gets a permit from the county or city first. And you can only sell at certain times in certain areas, like on a Saturday morning in a parking lot. In America we have lots of ideas but they get squashed if it does not fall in line with government regulations.

This is the kind of problem that shows the value of diverse thinking. Many if not most of the people in the US can't become self-sufficient the way Jon can: they don't have the same access to land, the same kind of climate that's good for year round farming, the same kind of community, etc. That doesn't mean it can't be done; it just means we have to be more creative about it. I don't know what the solution is. I am clueless about farming, but I do know that people are resourceful and creative and that, as much as we dislike hard times, hardships are often the things that lead to the most creative and most impactful solutions. I've seen people post about year-round gardening in Canada. I've seen people talk about growing corn in their basements. Are those things anyone can do? Are they enough for the basic necessities of life? I don't know, but the people who watch videos like this one can try them out or come up with new solutions. ❤

1. When everyone learns same education = not diversity 2. No diversity = everyone come to similar solutions 3. Nature is not a factory 4. More money/items is not the solution to happiness = rewire education + thinking

In capitalism, money is all that matters, as it's either that, or starving. In order to rewire education (which is meant to breed docile workers), we need to fight the disease - the root cause - capitalism (profit uber alles).
