@WiiManElite By my assessment, Bane would keep scarecrow alive. By your assessment, he wouldn't. Scarecrow is alive in this scene --> there is a flaw in your assessment of Bane. Nolanverse Bane is ruthless, but he acts with a purpose. He keeps people alive who are useful to him and punishes people who actually caused a failure. Bane killed the henchman who let Gordon Jump, but didn't kill everyone around him. It is senseless to kill everyone who was part of a failed operation, but it is more reasonable to punish those specifically involved in failure.

in a wider sense, the full shot at 0:20 also represents a scarecrow. This whole setting is Dr Crane. The hat of the scarecrow is the oval shaped ceiling of the building, the head is Crane himself as his size in comparison to everything else in the room shows how insignificant he is to Bane despite his current judicial position ironically, the stacks of drawers and long sheets of paper which were once practically invaluable to document the court's activities are now useless and common like the hay for the scarecrow's body and the legs are the people themselves, since they are unknowingly the ones being the most used in court by Bane, but are too unaware to stop it, cursed to remain there scaring crows but forever serving the farmer who created them; Bane

Fun Fact: Bane knitting is actually a connection to the book "A Tale of Two Cities" where Madame Defarge knits the names of the Aristocrats in her cloth in a code so she remembers who to kill when the French Revolution breaks out. Similarly, Bane is knitting while he's taking over Gotham. Both characters wanted change for the good of themselves or the people and both wanted violent means to get it. Apparently the book had a huge impact on the trilogy as a whole as many other connections can be seen as well

Re: Morales Actually there's no way you'd see Joker at this court. Scarecrow had previously been associated with the League, that's why they enlisted him (funny how they say Bane has no power in the court, but like Crane will give any mercy to the League's enemies!). Joker respects no authority and he would never respect Bane or the League; he's barely capable of being in a room with other people much less cooperating with them for some kind of "plan."
@Spexflow
10 жыл бұрын
To be honest if it was possible to have the Joker in this movie (R.I.P Heath Ledger) he probably would've tried to fuck with Bane's plan. Thus creating even more chaos...and let's face it he's a man who loves that. :)
@Beppo85
6 жыл бұрын
Yea Crane is more of a little follower than Joker. Joker would be jealous of Bane as the big new bad guy in town and try to sabotage his plans just for the heck of it. Whereas Crane just likes to feel powerful. He’s just enjoying playing judge and Bane just lets him do his thing and have his fun and Crane isn’t interfering with him. And of course in the end Crane would have just died with everyone else.

Considering that Bane is exactly the better class of criminal that Joker wanted, I don't think the Joker would be in the picture because Bane was doing his work for him. So many of the League's values are shared by the Joker, just with a different twist. If anything, the Joker might take advantage of the chaos to fuck with Batman again, but not Bane.

Cillian Murphy’s Scarecrow is such an awesome, underrated character. It works for me that he was never the main villain; it always looks like he’s just having the time of his life getting roped into other villains’ schemes, hanging out and screwing around while the plot happens around him. It’s hilarious and very comic book-y

Scarecrow/Crane was my favorite villain by far in the trilogy. Bane was just a forceful terrorist brute with physical strength, Joker was a clownish psychotic nutjob who tried to split the society apart and Ra's Al Ghul, his imposter and Henry Ducard were wannabe ninja losers. The fear element was so good in Nolan's batman movies. It's why Batman Begins is the best because Bruce origins are tested there and it was a lot more psychological and interesting than the sequels. Gotham felt like it was under siege there. Wish Cillian Murphy got more screentime because he was born for this legendary antagonist role. He even has cuts and snippets on his suit/jacket to remind us who he is at core he's so awesome. 2 minutes of presence but still manages to steal the whole movie. He's so narcissistic, cocky and arrogant here as a judge for the criminals I love it. His performances are always so amazing and mesmerizing whether small or big. Best and most talented actor ever.
