Neuroscience has come leaps and bounds over the past decades. With our increased yet still vague understanding of the brain, we’ve come to realize that our surroundings can influence us quite heavily. Our moods, our thought processes, the things we crave- all of these can be swayed by whatever stimuli is before us.
So what if we could build an environment that optimized our brains? An environment designed to get the brain moving at its fullest capacity? Dr. Maha Ibrahim, professor of modern trends in interior design at Helwan University, a speaker in TEDxGUC Gaps, will discuss that very question. Learn how, through architecture and interior design, we can use our knowledge of neuroscience to influence our very psyches.
Professor of modern trends in the interior design and Furniture department, faculty of applied arts-Helwan university,Egypt.
She published more than 11 academic articles and research papers, one of them holds the title “ The Integration of Interior Design and Neuroscience: Towards a methodology to apply neuroscience in Interior spaces “ where she discusses the necessity of integrating Architecture and Interior Design with neuroscience. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
