With all due respect I think you're forcing things to associate with race when they aren't actually associated. The scenario of a family needing a quick/easy breakfast before church because of wanting to rest on Sunday is relatable to all audiences, and is an incentive to head to McDonalds on Sundays. The experience of a pushy grandmother is also relatable to all. As for the gospel? It's about breakfast before church. Church music is the most appropriate choice.
@tiahnarodriguez3809

@@kendallperry9247 Don’t try to talk sense to op. They’re apart of a monitory in the community that thinks we’re still on the plantation. I thought the commercial showed us as normal people, but also showed awareness to certain cultural aspects, like living with grandma, church being a big day for many of us, the cast fi wearing their Sunday’s best like they really are ready for church, etc. This is good representation for us, unlike that racist black face KFC commercial from Japan.

Good assessment.The working hard all week nuance that stuck out to me was the insinuation of her doing manual labor as if we didn't have other jobs during that time, and the remnants of slavery where a black persons value lies in how "hard" we work. The true story behind this commercial taken from a recording from the original meeting: Mac Donalds Exec's: How can we introduce African Americans to suburban white households to sell our burgers? 1st Junior Exec: I say we begin by putting them in suits. It's none threatening and nobody expects someone to harm them wearing a suit. 2nd Junior Exec: Well unless they work on wall street or are a politician... so scratch any thoughts of any black politicians being in this. Mac Donalds Exec: So how will this attract the urban blacks, if they don't usually wear suits? They wont believe the actors. 2nd Junior Exec: Well African Americans do wear suits to work, funerals, and um ........... All Execs: CHURCH! 1st Junior Exec: Yes, see we can use church because the white republicans would look bad talking about anything church related! 2nd Junior Exec: Exactly, so I recommend the jingle sound like gospel music, choir and all! 1st Junior Exec: Yes and because we know black people eat dinner at grandma's after service, we will promote eating our product for....... wait for it........... breakfast. Mac Donalds Exec: Brilliant! Fellas, I think we have ourselves a commercial. 😁

Is the old lady the mother of the husband or the wife?

Pretty sure it’s the husbands mother. She seems all smiles for him and ready to smack the wife.

I was just thinking that. She kisses the husband on the lips yet gives the Eye to the wife/mom/singer for not getting to it. 100% Husband's momma
