I love the art style and i am also happy it is PvE rather than PvEvP... we have enough games that do that, this game just looks so good.

Their art design is phenomenal and it seems like they're developing some interesting lore to match. Gameplay-wise, it's looking pretty ambitious. Very system-heavy. I hope they take things slow and make the most out of early access.

Everyone says that when the game is not yet released... A month after release no one plays the games and keeps asking for PvP to come to these games. I doubt this game will survive for long, seen it too many times now.

Im gonna get it because it looks promising. Its very important to remember its early access. People have false expectations because of all the games on steam that sit in early access forever. It will probably be buggy and janky. But as someone who bought baulders gate 3 in early access its important to me to support games that i think are intresting. It's worth the $27 to me just because of their message. Heres hoping they arent just lying, but consumers must speak with their wallets.

Your comment "its important to me to support games that i think are intresting" resonated with me. Nothing in this world is a sure bet & mainstream games are so risk-averse now. Not to mention how incredibly difficult it is to launch original IP. But it's important for gamers - consumers - to reward developers who are willing to take calculated risks, so long as its backed up by passion, good planning and a solid business model.

Haha, it can be, which is why I tried to use finger quotes when I made that statement. Depending on my frame of mind at the time (and the particular game in question), I've found stealth mechanics to be absolutely thrilling or incredibly tedious. The best stealth games are typically very good at answering the question: "If I'm seen by the enemy, what happens next?".

Thanks for the vid and the thoughts. This game also popped onto my radar too. The premise and art-style and grim dark setting seems different in a good way. I have decided to take a wait and see approach by not getting it day 1. What makes a game great is the moment to moment gameplay. Does the game make you feel like your skill at playing it determines the outcome? That's very important. I hope this is not a game that was made by the art guys. Where you wander/sneak around looking at a post apocalyptic warzone, but it feels shallow. I really do hope that won't be the case. We'll all find out next week. Let's hope they do walk the walk. Action speaks louder than words.

And thank you for checking out the video & sharing your thoughts! I agree with everything you've said. A game can be very difficult but if it's continually rewarding and there's joy to be had in simply "going through the motions" aka. the moment-to-moment gameplay, then it becomes a great foundation for layering on a bunch of other interesting, supporting systems. A game like this that's poorly designed could easily devolve into becoming a one-trick pony. The sheer harshness & difficulty of it can overshadow the player's agency to control their own fate.

Thanks! I'll have to check out BigFry's content about the game as well. Your concern is very valid, though given the nature of early access, the dev's vision for their gameplay loop is likely incomplete and they need real, live bodies to prove out assumptions they've made about their design.

I think its totally fine to pick up an early access game, try it, enjoy it and leave it to come back later when more development took place. I am very excited how the AI will improve. I hope they put alot of effort into it!
@Maclintok

Agree. Early access games are not demos. There's an implicit expectation for players to be constantly engaged in a feedback loop with the developers. In theory it's a matter of "getting back what you put into it". The game sounds like it's going to be very AI & systems-driven and as a result very CPU-intensive. I hope my system can cut it!

Say what? For the $27 you get early access to the game, you are an active participant in the development of the game if you chose to engage on the discord and you get the full release when it's finished. Either it's for you or it isn't. I consider $27 to be a steal for what I have seen so far.

@@stevejohnson6248 Yeah but thats because you suffer from a debilitating mental illness. Nobody ACTUALLY wants to participate in the development of anything. @Doomblade3890

Honestly I consider the $27 to be bearable considering that Escape from Tarkov (which many consider the "gold standard" of extraction shooters) had higher price points and even had the gall to release a $250 DLC at one point. Then there's Alpha Cit- I mean STAR Citizen which has been in development for about a decade and has INSANE prices for their starting packages. Coupled with the fact the devs said that there won't be any pay-to-win or other micro-transactions (aside from cosmetic packs if you want to support the devs, which honestly is totally fair since Deep Rock Galactic did that) makes this seem rather enticing given the greed in the gaming industry nowadays. I do however understand your point that $27 does seem a bit much for an early-early access build. Hopefully these devs put their noses to the grindstone and make this game truly magnificent, which I believe it has the potential to be!
