Without a doubt having the greatest recruiting class in 2018, Duke got another unexpected commitment from the biggest name in high school basketball in Zion Williamson. Although analysts predicted he would be heading to Clemson or South Carolina, Zion decided he couldn't pass up on the offer that has swayed many other elite prospects over the last few years. In this video, I touch on some of the negatives that consist of Zion committing to Duke for both Duke basketball and college basketball (aka the HARD Truth as seen in title)... Let me know what you guys think!

"With Zion, Duke has Greatest Recruiting Class in College Basketball History"
'Zion Williamson surprised a lot of people by committing to Duke in a live ceremony on ESPN2 on Saturday evening. Though he never officially posted a list of finalists, everyone seemed to believe the phenom from Spartanburg, South Carolina, would choose between Clemson and Kentucky.
Instead, he decided on "joining the brotherhood of Duke University," giving head coach Mike Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils a group of freshmen unlike anything we've seen before.
(And Kentucky head coach John Calipari was none too pleased about Williamson's decision.)
247Sports' composite rankings list the living, breathing highlight reel as the No. 3 overall player in the 2018 class. This also makes him the No. 3 player in Duke's class, as No. 1 R.J. Barrett and No. 2 Cameron Reddish have committed to the Blue Devils as well. Let's not forget about Tre Jones either. The younger brother of Tyus is the No. 1 point guard and No. 8 overall recruit in the 2018 class, giving Duke quite the quartet of incoming studs.'

Zion Decision Big Blow to In-State Schools
'The best player (Donte Grantham) on the Tigers’ top 20 men’s basketball team had his college career end with a torn knee ligament against Notre Dame on Jan. 20.
On Jan. 26, the school announced that one of the greatest sports information directors anywhere (Tim Bourret) would be retiring July 1 after four decades.
In between, the best basketball prospect (Zion Williamson) to ever come out of the Tigers’ backyard in nearby Spartanburg, S.C., announced he would follow the road most taken to Duke instead.
While the Bourret departure cut closest to the bone for folks in the media, Zion’s crossroads choice stung the most to South Carolinians from Clemson to Columbia.
Live on ESPN just minutes after South Carolina lost to Tennessee in the lead-in game, Williamson told a national audience he would “join the brotherhood of Duke University.” That certainly disappointed other blue-blooded finalists including North Carolina, Kentucky and Kansas, but it was a gut punch to both his underdog home-state finalists, including a Tigers program that many presumed was a favorite up until the moment Williamson put on the Duke hat.
“I love my state to death,” he said, just not enough to give one of the growing programs the blessing of his services for one year before he likely heads off to the NBA.
You can’t really fault Williamson for his choice. The common road for aspiring one-and-doners typically follows the well-worn paths through Durham, N.C., or Lexington, Ky. It’s the safe play to go work for Mike Krzyzewski or John Calipari for a season before jumping into the NBA draft. Joining arguably the greatest recruiting class in college basketball history with three other top-eight recruits including each of the three most coveted for the first time in history assures that the Blue Devils will again be in the national championship picture even when its current crop of one-and-doners exits right on cue.'
