It uses eccentric overload, which increases the load to greater than 1rm for the eccentric and back down to your normal weight for concentric. It probably does maximally stimulate hypertrophy, even more so than traditional training. You can do this with another person with barbells, or with single limb movements (like picking up a dumbbell with both hands and lowering it with 1 arm in a dumbbell curl).
@jazzyje5ter223
6 ай бұрын
On the other hand I could also see why this isn’t good for hypertrophy training. Lots of bodybuilding and powerlifting (I know powerlifting is not hypertrophy focused) workouts are based on variables that someone might prefer to calculate themselves especially intermediate and advanced athletes or lifters. This machine seems like it would be amazing at certain things but not others. I can’t imagine getting a better workout with this machine compared to doing bench press and flys, for multiple reasons such as the SFR or stimulus to fatigue ratio being too extreme. There’s a much different amount of stretch in the chest (from what the video shows). Etc etc. But it definitely seems like a great machine that has its advantages and disadvantages just like any aspect of training.

@natemajor6560

That’s actually pretty cool ngl I was hating on it but if it does that that’s pretty cool. Idk if just training to failure is much different stimulation but that’s pretty cool since it can get you there with minimal fatigue and safer.
