I'm really impressed with American engineering, it really blows competition out of the water considering imports for the same price range are nowhere near as fast. That saying "Muscle can only go in a straight line" is bull shit. I'm a huge imports fan and I have a Honda lol, but for sure I admire these beasts for what they are.

I was letting him go in the hair pin. No reason to keep holding up a car that caught you and I wanted to see him enter the straight without me in his way. It was impressive. I entered the straight and was closing back in on him a bit. He proceeded to thrwart my run and put bus lengths on me.

DeftonesFan867 The z-28 is a stupid car. Costs 75k and doesn't even have a/c standard. 10k more gets you a viper that would absolutely destroy a z-28 around a track and you don't have to pay extra for a/c. I'm sure the new Z06 vette would handily rape a Z-28 as well.

Nice Vid Ralph. I have to ask, what did the Hellcat 6 speed manual run in the 1/4 during SRT testing of it (with drags and stock rubber)? Plenty of info is out there on the A8 ,but us 6 speed manual guys need to be "fed" too. I am just curious how much slower it is as opposed to the A8. I want to get the stick but I would like to know this info first. Edmunds did a test of the 6 speed manual Hellcat and got 12.8 secs in the 1/4 with only a 118MPH trap I cant see anyway it's that slow, and the trap speed doesn't add up. Help a brother out with the inside scoop :).

Bobby Peru www.edmunds.com/dodge/challenger/2015/road-test-specs.html Keep in mind, my friend test drives these as a SRT employee. Nobody wants to believe it, but the automatic was consistently quicker in both 1/4 mile and on road coarse due to the amazing computer and trans combo eliminating time between gears.!. They claim back to back testing with drag radials that the auto does 10.78. 11.25 with the street perelli pzeros.
@nickg.7456
10 жыл бұрын
wheelspinner20 There's no doubt the auto is quicker. There are numerous publications showing the 0-60 and 1/4 for the A8. The numbers are very impressive. Unfortunately, the Edmunds test that HemiBurns mentioned and you linked seems to be the only test with numbers posted for the 6 speed. We were just hoping to get some info from someone other than Edmunds and even better if Ralph would chime in.
@HemiBurns

wheelspinner20 Since your friend test drives these ask him what the 6 speed manual Hellcat ran with drag radials and on street rubber. We all know it's slower than the A8, we just want to know the numbers it ran.
@s0meguy809
10 жыл бұрын
It used to be that manual tranny cars would trap higher and ET slower than auto's. I wouldn't be surprised if the 8 speed trapped higher than the 6 speed because it's so efficient. If they only got 118mph, they seriously do not know how to drive. It's hard to run a really fast time in a M/T high powered RWD car. If you look at the Viper, most say it runs mid 11's stock, but mid-high 10's are possible with a good driver. Jamie Furman ran a 10.9 at 129mph in a stock 08 viper.

@Boss1186

But it will spill at each acceleration?
@scottlincoln6286
10 жыл бұрын
If the cup holder's are engineered properly, with adequate depth and firmness to hold my coffee, acceleration shouldn't be an issure, I hope dodge thought it through and did some in-field testing
@Boss1186
10 жыл бұрын
Scott Lincoln Yeah but I meant even if the cup itself doesn't move, the coffee or whatever is inside the cup is still free to move around. If you go into a succesion of rapid and then slow corners it will spill. Of course there's no reason why you would do that in the first place with coffee in your car, but we never know :D
@scottlincoln6286
10 жыл бұрын
Boss1186 hmm...yes you make a very good point Boss, with the proper depth of the coffee holder and firmness to prevent the "cup" from tipping, there still is the issue of the fluid itself spilling. The solution would be a liquid tight lid to prevent leaking. But the "lid" itself would have to be easily accessible when the driver needs to hydrate, especially durning cornering. Perhaps a pop top configuration allowing the driver to simply push a button allowing the coffee to flow free.... BUT, one would need a tiny air hole on the top to allow free flow once opened, rather then speradic unpredictable spurts of coffee.
