Takeover of AJS and Matchless by Norton? Surely you jest! As you stated, Associated Motorcycles acquired Norton in 1954. The Norton Factory was closed in 1962, Manganese Bronze Holdings purchased AMC in 1964. The company continued with AJS and Matchless models until 1969, then dropped all other marques to focus on the production of the Commando, with the frames being produced in Manchester, the engines in Wolverhampton and the whole lot coming together to be assembled in Plumbstead with other parts made at Plumbstead. Edit: With the Norton Factory closed and nearly all fabrication and assembly done at Wolverhampton and Plumbstead, the Atlas engine being developed after 1954, it could be argued the Commando was a badge engineered AJS/Matchless, the name 'Norton' being the only thing that was actually from Birmingham.

Yes, I noticed one or two historical inaccuracies too...they go 'ding' in your head when you're listening ;)

It would be good if you do an edit and turn down the annoying subtrack. That would greatly improve your videos. *

@@MOS6510Models YES , the vintage veteran is a swell running and riding cycle 🚲. It draws lot's of attention wherever it goes! It's not restored but a very presentable original.
