lol...I was reading up on Cyrano de Bergerac after a Twitter post on "Things in your 1970's living room" in which we have a bronze statue of him and Venus De Milo on pedestals. I could not remember anything about the play...JUST HIS BIG NOSE. So then I ended up watching the 1950's movie of the play where he is expertly depicted by Jose Ferrer. through the wiki, I saw Jose's son Gabriel Ferrer married Debbie Boone. An hour later, ( after listening to "You light up my life" and remembering all the Boone's. I found the wedding photos of Debbie Boones and the Ferrer's to see if Gabriel looked anything like his father or his brother Miguel Jose Ferrer. No, he doesn't ...He looks like his mother Rosemary Clooney (aunt to George Clooney). In a wedding photo was a tall man from my childhood. The photo named him Bill Hudson of the Hudson brothers...NOW I am remembering all three brothers and I loved the show too. THIS IS A DAY OF SURFING DURING A PANDEMIC. Seems we are all related one way or another.

I always really liked this song. It's very Beatles-ish. The vocal on the verse sounds like George Harrison, while that of the chorus sounds a lot like John Lennon. However, I agree with certain comments that this song sounds most like Badfinger, as if it could have been penned by Pete Ham, the Badfinger lead guitarist who wrote and sang of all their hits. The overall production and sound is trademark Badfinger, which means it's kind of Beatles-ish but not a Beatles copy. In any case, it's a great song.

I loved the Hudson Brothers and watched their show all the time. There were a lot of groups in the 70s with similar sounds because that was the style. They sounded like themselves. They were funny and Goldie Hawn married Bill and they had two children Oliver and Kate. I think most know of Kate Hudson as someone else posted but Oliver is an actor as well.. They were only married four years. They were really popular during the 70s.

@KRLA1110 Those are memories worth revisiting. I recall having a HUGE crush on a girl, and though I was only 14, I dreamt of singing this to her straight from my heart. I thought I was going to die! My heart was breaking a hundred times a minute. Funny thing was I didn't know she felt the same way! When I finally got the nerve to tell her how I felt, she fell against me and started bawling like crazy and I figured I'd done something awful! We still feel the same about each other 35 years later.

This song has “The Beatles” written all over it, a complete replica of John Lennon's voice trapped in the melody and Paul in the background; the Hudson Brothers probably fooled alot of people. However the song was a huge success, but the downside of sounding like someone else could hurt record sales by confusing the audience

My parents used to repossess cars (people actually gave them up without an argument or fighting) and they would leave all kinds of stuff in their car, including tapes of music. What a great tune, how did this not become a huge hit? I know it made the Hot 100, but with all things Beatles-related being huge in 1974, this would seem to have "hit" written all over it. Who is singing lead? Mark? I'm familiar with his work with Ringo, that's about all.
