Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses the major difference between converting an AR Pistol to a rifle format compared with converting an AR Rifle to pistol format. The former, pistol to rifle, is quite straight forward and does not require any ATF paperwork. The latter, however, will require ATF approval via a Form 1 before assembly can take place.
