Danny is one of the finest men I know. He is still plying when he is able to, unfortunately he is battling cancer at the moment. I found this post on another thread if anyone has it in their heart to help him. I am sure his family, hospice workers and 6 grandchildren would appreciate any help possible. :

When I ditched school and went to the pool hall sometimes Danny Medina would walk in and practice .The best part was if he got bored he would play me 9 ball . It's how I learned. Bet was a dollar a game and be like 20 games If I got lucky I paid him 19 dollars ' Which was cheap lessons from someone as good as he was . I know how good Danny was and I'll tell you flat out Danny would have spanked this guy in real life. It was a long time ago but remember it well. RIP Danny..

HE6 WAS ALWAYS PLAYING SURFER ROD OR ALLAN HOPKOMS ONE POCKET AFTER HOURS ON OUR 3 X8 TABLES WITH THE BIG BALL. WHAT A GENTLEMAN HE WAS. ALL THE FANS REALLY LOVED HIM. I DON'T KNOW WHY HE LEFT US SO SO BUT HE WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED BY PEOPLE WHO KNEW HIM. BILL MERRILL

@@tgh223yes there is. They were around in the 40s-60s and some years back there was still 2 at a place in Joplin, Missouri. They were Brunswick with monarch rails. They were actually to play 'corners' or what some ppl call short end one pocket. So this man is telling the truth and I love hearing the stories

In case anyone didn't notice, they used re-used the same break by Danny Medina at 0:18 and 0:59. Why splice that obvious edit in there as opposed to just filming Danny breaking again? My best guess is they forgot to film Danny breaking again and had to re-use that same break shot in post-production. Who knows?

The problem with this video is that you have TWO hustlers. It just wouldn't have played out like what we seen here. The second your game improved 10 fold it would have been clear to the other hustler what was going on. That would have most likely put an end to it before you even finished the first game. They would start trying to enforce non existent "house rules" and stuff like that. Or, they might just change the bet...even if that change is obviously something no sane person would believe. "No, I said you have to make the 7, 8 and 9 in order to win. And since I made the 8 then you lose." Crazy stuff like that. Anything to keep from paying you off. He would even have a buddy there backing him up.

101perspective - I knew Danny and Floyd both many years ago. So watching this was cool. However as you noted a “game” like this wouldn’t have went down like this. Floyd on the dump and then Danny offering the 7,8,9 and first break for 5X the original bet isn’t how it’s done. However was nice to see Danny hitting some balls. I miss pool
