I agree with you. As an early investor in NVDA, AVGO, ANSS, and LRCX, my financial advisor's advice was incredibly helpful. Over the past 7 years, she has helped me find stocks that did 10x multiple times. With her help, I've grown my portfolio to over two million dollars.

Peter Lynch is without a doubt my favourite investor. Funny, down to earth and makes everything sound simple. He has for sure influenced the way i invest heavily. Its a shame he didnt stick around to provide us with more content :)

@appsbroadhurst5500 not retiring like Munger & Buffet cos you love the money while Lynch retired at 46 although to be fair it's probably a hobby for Buffet & Munger though. He could have made more money but decided that he has enough

@@cryptocsguy9282Buffet’s primary driving factor is his score card, and reputation. That’s what he’s said, and that’s what his actions have shown. I think he wants to be written down in history as histories’ most successful investor. Not 100% sure what Charlie’s main driving factor was. He’s made jokes about being rich to be generous so that he is liked, but can’t be sure.

He was big on understanding why you purchased a stock. He tells a great story about his investment in Kaiser Industries where he invested at $26 dollars per share and eventually realised $50 per share value from the stock, but in the interim it went to $3. Unless he understood why he purchased it originally, he probably would have sold a loss but he understood the underlying value and waited it out.

Peter is one of my favorite investors, total OG. Anyone who follows the value of the company is my type of person. As others have mentioned it still takes serious research and I'd say some of his speeches and writing downplay that side a bit. But I think its because to him if you're going far enough to wonder, to start researching, to see the value in what a company does vs how popular the stock is, you will probably be able to do the basic research needed. It still doesn't take as much as people think, follow your gut. Walk down the street and pay attention to what you and those around you are purchasing every single day. The research and proof are right in front of you, now double check the basics of their financials to verify they arent in a hole and there you go. Great video as always.

Try doing this style of investing today - I would say at this point it‘s nearly impossible - olygopols have established themselves - small companies offer themselves directly to the big players or get bought up before they go public - the market today is just different than in the past

The whole just anybody can select stocks idea is unrealistic. If you're not ready to carefully examine financial statements and market research, and you're not pretty good at it, you're not ready. If you haven't studied risk, you're not ready. So much for 85% of regular people. He wanted investors to believe in themselves which sells books, but he wasn't working off the data about how many such people mess up. Be careful.

Very swallow analysis. It’s just math he lost 96% of investments but the 4 % went stratospheric. And market had a big run I the last 5 years- everyone made regardless then - Please do your research Fun fact had his fund stayed it would now be worthless in 2024 .

Be careful of the narrative. Remember Elizabeth Holmes? Forget about the regular people, she fooled even the seasoned investors with her sexy narrative. Peter is obviously over simplifying investing by saying invest in what you understand, which apparently everyone can implement. Clearly there's a lot more to investing.
