Aaaalright yogis! Back from a break from KZitem, today we're taking a look at the peak of the intermediate series backbends and how you can use conscious awareness of the traditional vinyasa count to identify opportunities to release and stabilise the lumbar spine as you move through Ustrasana (Camel pose), Laghu Vajrasana (The little thunderbolt) and Kapotasana (Pigeon pose). The techniques described in this video can have a profound effect with correct implementation over your long term practice by creating the necessary muscular activation and grounding of the energetic systems to bring a state of balance to what can otherwise be a very intense section of the Ashtanga yoga practice.
