I've never gotten emotional watching a fight. Seeing the 2nd legend fight through the pain after his leg was injured. Seeing the pain in his face and him still getting up. He's fighting for his life! When he couldn't stand and he started crying. I'll admit, I did too, the level of desperation he got to knowing he can't get up, with blood pouring out of the top of his head. Unbelievable spirit from both and an unbelievable story.

Originally, Muay Thai was also known as the art of 9 limbs, but the predominant idea was that the 9th limb was the head as in brain, not the head as in skull.

Could be that Muay Thai is just a more fleshed out martial art because it is practiced world wide and has faced all styles. Lethwei might be less tested because fewer people are willing to try due to the brutality. It’s possible that being more proficient in fighting with your limbs outweighs having the additional skill of the headbutt.

The Muay Thai techniques are tremendously helpful. Muay Thai is all about precision and technique. Lethwei is pure brutality. Leduc was not good at Muay Thai. Look at his old Muay Thai fights. He just can't really "move" like other Muay Thai fighters. He was not smooth at all. It looked quite comical. But what he was good at, was endurance and brutality. And Lethwei provided that. I am guessing in the Lethwei space, there is going to be a bigger emphasis on picking up precision and techniques from Muay Thai. It is the same reason you started seeing how the Thais took boxing skills more seriously after Ramon Dekkers destroyed them with it. A good martial art evolves, and I think Lethwei is going to get even more insane .

I was training at Tiger Muay Thai 5 years ago and I see this bald headed guy lifting a concrete block with his teeth. I heard boxers do this to strengthen their necks but to see him doing it like a beast is something different. I knew this guy was something different. Later, when I returned to Canada, I see this same bald headed guy in Lethwei fights. Find out he was the champ. I was very happy to have seen a real life champion working very hard.
