Made me cry all over again! What a wonderful band, and people

What a memory! I have been a fan for 35 years, and loved every single album, ever single song. I once flew in from Shanghai to the concert in Nottingham and flew back home the same night, because I had a project to lead the following Monday morning. I came as a stranger, and left with many new friends. This last weekend I came in from Austria, where I am living now. It fills my heart with sadness that Runrig will be no more, but the fond memories of years past, plus all the records, videos and CDs I have at home will help me to continue entertaining my neighbors with my helpless singing attempts under the shower ;-) All the best to the guys - and to all my fellow Runrig fans around the globe: I am proud to be part of that global family!!

Phenomenal and emotional night and I was glad to be part of it. What I find incredible is that our so called media in scotland haven't really bothered to give this any attention. The BBC website still only has a disinterested out of date mention of the gig. A massive boost to the city, an enourmous international turnout and yet barely worth a footnote from our state mouthpiece. is a shame that one of Scotlands most important musical talents is so widely ignored and misunderstood.

it was ever thus....it's astonishing to me that a leading journalist and political commentator was dishing out anti Runrig abuse on Twitter over the weekend. I got obnoxious comments from people apparently because they're rangers fans and somehow Runrig is offensive to them (just going by their twitter profiles and time lines). There are sadly many neanderthals alive and well in Scotland :-(

Actually myself quite positively shocked about that that Rangers supporters doing that sort of thing, oh well their loss not ours :) Sadly couldn't go as I am unwell was due to see them on the tour but my recovery from a really critical operation in some respects took longer than I originally thought, gutted really :(

This was an amazing night, and I was very emotional at the end, not just because it’s the end of 28 years following this incredible band, but in the way it touched my life. My mum and dad both discovered the music through me playing in my bedroom as a late teenager and early twenties, and both had the same song played at their funerals, my mum only four weeks ago, with me now 47. This same song payed at the funerals was this one, the final song played on stage by the band. What an emotional evening, and end to such a great story with these guys. Thank you, Runrig for touching my life.

At the end of their journey this night, the Boys from the Isles strode from a Stirling stage straight into the Land of Scottish Legend… for a short while we walked alongside them! Our magnificent privilege… our eternal memory!

What an unforgettable night and Malcolm echoed our feelings and we cried with you. Thank you for your gift to us, your music, that will forever stay in our hearts of olden glory. When you all get a bit bored and have written new material just start up a Riggie tribute band ... we'll all be there! Mòran taing :o))

The concert was amazing last night. We visited from Switzerland (having been fans since the late 80s). I really hope someone has is a recording of what came NEXT... the audience during the fireworks. Everyone continued to sing "Hearts of Olden Glory" to an empty stage for 20 minutes and wept out our thank you to a band whose music touched so many nations and people.

Yes lots of Swiss! Runrig has toured our country regularly for many years. In Basel we even have a Scottish clique who play bagpipes and drums, in my village there is a butcher who makes fresh haggis for Burn's night. We are all celtic tribes

The tears are trying to creep up on me again as I watch this - thank you for sharing. Being there that night will live with me forever. Being able to say thank you and goodbye to our band was so bittersweet but so joyous and so special in the same moment. As every song finished, it felt so strange to think that was the last time they'd be played. We're truly blessed to have lived at the same time as Runrig. Mòran taing, boys - mòran taing.

you definitely weren´t alone with your tears. The first tear started to roll down the cheeks during Bruce´s words and his solo version of The Year of the Flood, needed lots of handerchiefs during and after Book of Golden Stories and it completely got me at Hearts of Olden Glory - the closer we got to the final note the harder it was to sing along or even see anything ... and then there was Malcolm... Oh how it breaked my heart watching him ...
