Thanks for sharing this one! I am a big fan of these 'simple, beginner friendly' songs. There are some real benefits to learning songs like this : It's easy to try to sing along, it's easy to play with other musician's, if you learn the more advanced parts of the same songs you can teach it to others beginning with the more simple part. And there are many really great songs that fit the bill. I appreciate that you care enough to play the easy stuff too. Beatles, Stones, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Lou Reed are examples of accomplished artists who have many songs like this. I'm sure there are many others, that's just off the top of my head. Thanks again James.

One of my favourite early Stones songs and early learn for me years ago on my brother's acoustic. I could never play the Jones riff the way he does, but I don't care and it still sounds great. I've always thought that Elvis Costello tune You Belong to Me has a similar albeit faster feel. Thanks for videos and the commentary - hopefully you keep them rolling. Good luck with the hockey lottery draft :)

"The Last Time" was the first bonafide Jagger/Richard song that was presented to the band. ("Tell Me" from the first album was essentially a copied throwaway before they seriously considered songwriting.) The addition of Brian's hypnotic riff and Bill's muddy bass made the track and it still sounds great, a real classic. You're also right about the low thumbed F# note - Keith also used to thumb the low G note in the 3rd position G Major chord on other songs, so that was his M.O. back in the day when he played in standard tuning and before he adopted open-G tuning nearly exclusively around 1969. Thanks for the lesson.

Thanks for all your work on P.T channel, so happy to see it continue on James James! Glad to see you play some Stones on a Hummingbird! Had my Kalamazoo H-bird that my uncle gave to me stolen a while back, replaced it a few years ago with a 2007 True Vintage Hummingbird...my go-to for Stones tunes, awesome for big strumming and some acoustic slide. Thanks, again

Hey PT...thanks for the Stones Lesson and all the vids from the old channel..I found your channel a few years ago when I was looking for a lesson on Can't You Hear Me Knocking...such a great help in figuring out that jam section...I don't get to play as often as I would like but when I wanted to learn I always came to your channel first...I feel badly that you had to deal with trolls ... it sucks that you essentially have to approve comments to prevent the bullshit. Well anyway...I just wanted to say thanks for everything posted to date and hopefully you keep playing for those who want to learn or discuss the music..please leave the other channel active so I can catch up on all the stones tunes I missed! Thanks again buddy....Rich

Hey, we all get hit with trolls and just dumb comments even now and then and I know how infuriating it can be. Also ... love that you/he does the simple songs as well as the complex. JJ/PT your channels are super valuable to us all ... and haven for guitar playing escape and improvement and relief from the hassles of the world. Many Thanks !
