Love that you wear your own merch lol. Also love your hat. 😎 The town probably wants to renovate it so ppl can stop littering and vandalizing it. But it would be cool if they had local artists design a mural.
@josha9927
2 жыл бұрын
Having artists draw murals is a great way to prevent graffiti and vandalism. All the mailboxes in my city used to get targeted with graffiti constantly until they had an artist design a collage of area codes into a graffiti like design that looks really cool. They covered all the mailboxes with the design and now you never see graffiti on mailboxes anymore. Even when the idiots try it just blends into the design so you cant even notice it. So the idiots with spray paint just gave up. Another spot under a bridge was so bad for graffiti on the massive concrete pillars and not the nice kind of graffiti either. The city ended up inviting artists with actual talent to do murals and nice looking graffiti on them if they wanted to. They even made it into a skate park under the bridge and put in lights so people can go at night. Tourists even come to check it out now, as a kid we even went there as part of a school trip. These areas have no issues with graffiti anymore its just beautiful art now.

They converted some tunnels in WISCONSIN to bike trails, they put doors on the tunnels and closed them after it freezes. The tunnels would freeze shut and wouldn't unthaw over summer. So the doors keep them from freezing, then in spring they open them up for the bikes again. Years ago the railroads had a tunnel keeper live on one end of the tunnel over winter. He would open door to the tunnels on schedule walk to the other end open those doors wait for the train to pass, close the door and walk thru close the other doors until next train

I don't know the history of this tunnel, yet up in BC Canada, we have Othello Tunnels which were original train tunnels, that were converted into walkways. They had experienced heavy flooding and a wind storm that damaged the pathways. The year it was built was 1914. So might want to investigate the history of your tunnel.

In Texas the mineral most often responsible for stalactites and stalactites is limestone. What is it where you live Post 10?

Hard to tell from looking at the vid, but it's most likely limestone as well. Hope you're not a Cowboys fan there, Tex....Brady did it again. You do NOT give him that much time and the ball at the end of a game like that.
@wsender
2 жыл бұрын
Most likely limestone. It's fairly prevalent near the service in the Northeast.
@Seriously_Unserious
2 жыл бұрын
One simple test you can do to tell if it's limestone is to drip some mild acid on it, if it's limestone, the acid will foam and bubble, because limestone is made from organic deposits from sea creatures. That same test also works for marble, which is basically limestone that's been heavily compressed during mountain building or cooked near a magma chamber, but it's still the same material that will react with the acid. Another test for limestone is if you look really closely, you'll often see some intact bits of shells that didn't fully decompose before turning into limestone and became fossilized.

I love that Bansky shredded the painting that went up for auction. The story behind it is rarely told. Everyone hears the same cookie cutter version out of media, but not a single one of them answer the most important questions regarding the entire event. Then they rub it in his face that it made the painting more valuable.

@@tribalismblindsthembutnoty124 whats the real story? Seems like it was purposely not fully shredded to me. Even the. Ideo of him making it showed bin holding the soldering iron like a pencil, it would have totally burned his hand the way he was holding it if it was actually on. I saw Banksy posters in Walmart and was conversing with am employee there who was actually am art major, and we discussing how the fact that the art was being sold there was kind of the antithesis of the message the art had to begin with, in a sense it contradicted itself.
