Oddly, in this version her voice doesn't return until she kisses Eric (In later versions, she gets it back immediately when she steals/breaks Ursula's shell). Eric and Ariel also supposedly had lines about him being her land and her being his tide; those must have been cut very early on if they were used at all.

@ArianaNicoleGeorge
9 жыл бұрын
Oh, of course, I certainly know that! I meant more along the nature of inspiration. If there was a line whether I was confused should be sad or not, etc. I also more meant it helps me as an actor to experience how the original is portrayed to build on it myself and create my own character out of it. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The musical when it went to broadway was vastly different. Most of the songs were the same, but it was 50x better or more. That was awesome! The musical was pretty well done! I remember I never ended up owning the Disney animated Little Mermaid. I remember that being a movie I really liked when i was little, but then I got made fun of by other school mates for liking it because they felt it was a girly movie and that was what made it so hard for me to watch it for a long time. I'm in my 30s now and I'm about to get back to owning Disney movies, I don't have kids but I just know I still really like Disney movies, and so I'm going to go back owning them, and this time I'm going to own the Little Mermaid because I really like it, and this time my peers won't make fun of me for liking it.

While the ending of the live action remake is nice, I wish it were close to this. Having Grim relieved that Ariel's royalty as a joke for the audience, Triton having a conversation with Eric, and everyone singing "Part of Your World" in the end. Even though we hear a chorus sing the song at the end of the original film, we don't actually SEE anyone sing it. So I think it would've been nice to see everyone at the end of the remake sing it. Especially both Eric and Ariel.
