Biz, you had to be there to truly appreciate how this song was part of the soundtrack of the time. Listening to this made me feel so nostalgic! Yes, please do the live TV (if I remember correctly) video. It captures the vibe of the era. I'm so happy you enjoyed!

They still sound as great as they did in 69. Yes you should react to their stage performance ( 1969).

It was a huge hit. The live version is the same people but about 40 years on. It was big with vets in Nam.

Big Soul Biz, you have a way to reach out to so many of your elderly fans. I was in High School when this was a big hit. It's one of those old songs that reach into your heart. 1969 was a different world, and you appreciate requests for your fans no matter what age.

I believe Dean Ford is the lead singer and sadly passed away in 2018. This song was one of my favorites when I was young.

Wow, I have loved this beautiful song for many decades. This was a treat to see these guys still playing, They may be "vintage", but they still sound wonderful. I would recommend you listen to the original studio version - it's lovely.

I heard this song in the 60’s while riding in the back of my mama’s car. I was around 6 years old and it still resonates with me today. It definitely takes me back. Thanks for the reaction!

Dang they still totally got it !!! We should all hold up so well. (Biz....studio version would be cool, but they did a great job here. Studio the singer hits some great high notes at the end he couldn't get to anymore here.)

I understand that this song was important to the young Americans fighting in Vietnam.

Very simply listen to the words and picture, a soldier or a marine in Vietnam thinking what is being sung

Once again the live performance doesn't do justice to the song. Please do studio versions first then live, even if you do them back to back on the same video.
