The back is St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, not Saint Petersburg. Either way, it doesn't make sense as the watch is Chinese with a Belarusian movement. It also seems to be using communist nostalgia as the main theme of the brand, which is weird, that they would use a church on their case back, as that doesn't exactly fit the whole communist narrative. It seems a little pricey for what it is as well. It's $120 when you can get a one handed Luch (the Belarusian company that this company is buying its movements from) for like half of that. And if you bought the Luch, you could even say that it has an in house movement, for all that is worth from a non-Swiss brand. I don't see where the added value of these comes in, to where it would be double the price. It isn't labor, as it is cheaper to make watches in China than in Belarus. It isn't material, as the metal case, dial, hands, crystal, and leather strap are all at the same low level that a Luch would be. The movement is obviously the same. And neither company has a prestigious enough name to where that should add any value to the price tag of either watch. I will say that I do like the fact that there is no branding on the dial. It's simple and with a regular (non-NATO) strap, it would look really good. Maybe that is what you are paying for though: For them not to be advertising on the dial of your watch.

There's no reason that a single-handed watch has to be expensive, especially a 12 hour version. One could theoretically ghetto mod an inexpensive three-handed quartz movement. Simply remove the three hands, then reattach either the minute hand or second hand on to the hour shaft. I really wish some of the larger watch makers such as Casio or Seiko would offer single-handed versions of their 100 to 200 dollar watches. Watch aficionados would then be able to own single-handed watches without paying 560 dollars or more for the (admittedly nice) offerings from Botta A 24 hour single-handed watch would be only slightly more trouble to build. The hour hand would have to be run at half-speed of course. A piece of cake for any of these experienced watch makers. I would love a 100 to 200 dollar Casio or Seiko homage to the 40mm Botta UNO 24.

Yesterday I received my single-handed watch that I ordered from your store. Really loved it. Now I understand why the doom face dial design ... to magnify the dial. I'm nearsighted, so no there's no problem telling the minute time for me. But if you are farsighted, it's hard to tell the minute time. I loved winding it till it stops... LOL!!! The strap is very thin (almost sandpaper thin) but I loved it. But it looks good on a gray strap, so I swapped it out.

The owner of the online ( mostly ) russian watches, Poljot24.de , has inspired this watch and it's actually a collaboration between him, and Red Star. Both looked good. Couldn't decide (black or cream dial) which one I should get. Anyway, I clicked the link to check the availability. The cream dial was sold out. That made it easier, so I ordered the black dial. This would be my first one-handed watch. I am not aware that one-handed watch even existed. Most of the time this is how I use to tell the time ... it's close enough. If I need to know the accurate time, I'm not going to check the time on a mechanical watch because we know mechanical watches are not accurate even the expensive ones.

I bought one of these from Mark's shop a few months ago. Very cool watch with lots of character. I still care about accuracy, so I did carefully set it and sort of time it to see how long it takes for the hand to deviate more than a minute off (you can use the negative space between the fine two minute markers as a marker). I think it takes mine about a week to gain a minute or so, which is almost imperceptible. You could probably run it for a month before the hand would be obviously off by a few minutes.
