I think they need to go into meta-analysis. It doesn't matter if this movie is intentional or not or if the director is crazy. This movie bought people together and there's a magical spark about Tommy that is so abstractly interesting, its like a Jackson Pollock painting. It is to be enjoyed in all its madness and perhaps studied as I'm sure many film schools are...

Marc Weiner he believed he was making an Oscar winning film. He thought this was going to be the world’s greatest drama. After seeing people laugh for the first time, this broke Tommy, and Greg stepped in and told him that people did like it, just not the way he wanted to originally, and that he should accept that his film was still accepted. Tommy immigrated here in the 70’s from France (originally born in Poland in the 50’s) and lived with his aunt and uncle in Louisiana (chalmette, near New Orleans) until being convinced to move to San Francisco. There he sold European toys and eventually clothing, and was able to buy several businesses and earn a substantial amount of money. He was in a car wreck (late 80’s early 90’s?) which led him to reflect on life and pursue his dream of being an actor/producer, so he enrolled in classes and started modeling to get himself out there, it was there he met Greg in 1998, the rest is history

Well, Dracula tried to mate with a human and she became a drug addict because she was horrified by the mating experience, so snorted coke for three months and tried to kill Dracula's spawn by aborting him but because of Dracula's power, he survived being an aborted fetus and has lived his life ever since. greg could never say how he feels about the movie to tommy without it being like a betrayal, which would be kinda like what mark did to johnny... yet, we could see how greg really feels about it kinda in the same way how lisa could tell how mark really felt about her in the movie... so this is kinda like an affair between us and greg. can't you all see? the movie is a reflection of the aftermath of itself: mark is greg, johnny is tommy, and we are lisa. so if anything we learn from the movie, don't expect greg to come out with it. it'll only hurt tommy, and we'll side with greg, but greg will only end up hating us. kinda like what happened in the movie. now, who said this isn't planned all along? bam! you're welcome. love the movie btw.

he's gone into detail how he thinks about the movie and tommy in the book he wrote about the making of the movie. he probably doesn't want to bring up how shitty it is in every interview but it isn't a secret to tommy that greg thinks the movie they made is garbage.

RetardPwnage same here. i just read the book. and then watched the movie. Sestero's book moved me at times. I have a great amount of admiration for Tommy Wiseau to not wait for someone to throw a party, but to throw his own. He's DIY at any cost. literally. The movie is funny, but its not as bad as people want it to be. It was beautifully shot, and the actors did the best they had with what they had to work with. I hope to someday meet these guys. but not to laugh at them I dig Tommy Wiseau, really do.

It's possible. But I certainly didn't get that when reading Greg's book. He liked Tommy and like hanging out with him much of the time but other times he was embarrassed by him and uncomfortable with his clingy and overbearing nature. He was also very jealous of Greg because of his good looks and acting opportunities prior to being in The Room. Honestly, I feel that today, Greg is around Tommy now because he's all he has left from that time when he was an aspiring actor and the Room pretty much killed his career. Still sweet that he stays by his side.

Since the room is such a big part of his life now, I think it would be too embarrassing for him to admit that it wasn't bad on purpose and that he messed up because he'd have to live with the humiliation of it only having succeeded because it was accidentally hilariously bad.

One of the most interesting theories regarding the Room and Tommy Wiseau is that the discrepancies in what Tommy has stated as to where he's from and when he was born as well as the massive budget for such a bad movie point to the possibility of it being a money laundering project after some sort of heist, after which Tommy moved to America and changed his name.

I absolutely LOVE Greg Sistero, and how he is trying so hard not to laugh when he talks about how the movie deserves an Oscar for Best Movie ANd Best Director. Greg Sistero actually did an AMA on Reddit when he talked openly about the movie and how it was a huge regret of his and also how he doesn't understand Tommy Wiseau at all and thinks he's pretty weird actually haha Sadly, this movie is a hilarious joke that everyone, including Greg Sistero and the host here are in on, but sadly Tommy Wiseau has NO idea and he's so oblivious which makes it ALL the more hilarious.
