My late MM 1952 2dr has had the side valve replaced with 948 with 1098 head, carb gearbox and back axle... Not so good on steep hills, but cruises at 60 on the Motorway. Two great cars. You are a lucky man.

Do you know Bruce Blair of Bruce's Morris Garage in Carson City? I think he has a 52 with the split window that he converted to a Nissan engine and trans. All the charm with modern capability!

@@JemalCRM , No, I live on the other side of the pond in a County called Cornwall in the UK. We have a really amazing and very eclectic local classic car scene. Check out Classic Britain on youtube as one example, there is even some footage of my moggie. I tend to write under the name of Classicaraddict.

@@alexsmall6850 Ah Cornwall... I think we (Nevada City, California) have a "sister city" there, as many of our early settlers were Cornish miners during our gold rush. I'm half Welsh myself with family in Conway and Talacre, if you know where that is in North Wales! I lived on Anglesey as a child.

@@JemalCRM , was up that way 2 months ago to help a mate do a road kill type MGB GT recovery. We loaded up my MK1 Suzuki Vitara with tools and a welder repaired the car and we drove back in convoy. Lovely area, great people.

Thanks for posting this Jemal! It's a 1959 owned by the same person for maybe 40 years. Front disk brakes were added, and I am not sure if they are off the later Morris/Austin Marina or an aftermarket Kit. That little 948 cc does run very well, but I see the point of the non-stock gearing being too high for the weight. A 1098 cc or 1275 cc sure would help, especially in the hilly area it is now in.

Sorry the late reply... I just went and checked on it where it "lives" and it fired right up. I had a short clip with the owner driving it for the first time in years, but I don't think she's driven it since! Probably due to it's primitive conditions! It's been a while since most of us have driven without power brakes! Oh the disk brakes are Sprite/Midget with a long-available kit from Mini Mania and others.

Love the side view mirrors. Any idea what they're off of?
