THE NEXT BIG METROPOLIS! New Clark City is a new planned city currently being developed on a former military base in the Philippines by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and various private sector companies. The city is expected to be the country’s first smart, resilient and green metropolis. It aims to address growing environmental problems caused by climate change, by being disaster resilient in a region that has been heavily impacted by natural disasters. New Clark City offers a unique opportunity to showcase good and sustainable urban planning in the Philippines by enhancing public space availability, encouraging the use of non-motorised ways of transport and the creation of mixed use and inclusive developments. Not only that, near New Clark City is the New Passenger Terminal Building of the Clark International Airport (CRK), which provides a world-class experience to travelers going in and out of Clark, Pampanga. www.globalfuturecities.org ___ No talk, just walk. This is a walking and driving tour of New Clark City located in Bamban and Capas in the Province of Tarlac. 0:00 - Intro 0:42 - Driving to New Clark City 2:53 - Start of Walking Tour 4:10 - Aquatic Center 7:22 - Commercial Area 10:08 - Residences 11:46 - Athletics Stadium 16:40 - Driving to SCTEX *HDR (High Dynamic Range) capable devices or TV's are required to view and enjoy the true HDR content of this video. Things to add to this city to make it better: Add zoos, don't add so many malls but add Hospitals instead, add Big parks for Family picnics and outdoor activities, add trees everywhere that's free so walking outside would be nicer, widen the sidewalks and add shade trees so that people wouldn't need to deal with the heat while walking, add reliable transportations like trains but ban loud and noisy vehicles like motorcycles, add Malls that has a lot of neon lights at night, neon lights is so cool at night and it would attract a lot more people (I got this idea from the Starcourt from Stranger Things) and also stop widening highways, And also put the electric wires underground they look like boiled noodles and we don't want that.

Its called Clark Green City President Benigno Aquino III led the ground breaking ceremony of the Clark Green City (CGC) in Sitio Baloy. Barangay Aranguren, Capas Tarlac on 11 April 2016. The President laid the time capsule of the 9,450-hectare property with Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Arnel Paciano Casanova and Chairperson Maria Aurora Geotina-Garcia, DILG Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento and DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson. The CGC will be the home of the future National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Training Institute (NDRRMTI). The establishment of the proposed NDRRMTI will commence from a lot acquisition at the CGC. Soon, the NDRRMC through the OCD and BCDA will sign a memorandum of agreement to facilitate and legalize the establishment of the institute. President Aquino in his message said, “This city also embodies our vision for a more resilient Philippines. It shows that we are learning from the lessons of the past, and putting more thought into securing ourselves from the risks brought about by climate change. The number of 800,000 workers is roughly the amount of people that enter the labor force every year. With just the Clark Green City, we will have opportunities for the new labor entrance

4 things we can do to spur the development of New Clark City: 1. Stimulate economic activity in the area by attracting factories, IT, and BPO companies through government incentives (subsidies/tax breaks). 2. Invest in reliable transportation and low-interest/affordable housing. 3. Connect it to all major regions and significantly cut travel time to attract tourists and investors. 4. Invest in its tourism and entertainment sector. We can make it a prime destination for a new theme park that would rival Universal Studios. We can also make it the official venue for an annual festival similar to Panagbenga, Sinulog, Dinagyang, etc. Finally, it should be the official venue for our Palarong Pambansa and other athletic activities to ensure that its amenities are generating revenues. All these require A LOT of money but doing these 4 things will speed up the development of New Clark City and even the neighboring towns.

I'm creating a plan to own a condo here as I see it as the next Bangkok. Thanks again for posting Po

@KentBryanDMedez-tw6wc

Widen the sidewalks, build reliable transportations like trains but ban motorcycles, they're so noisy. Add shade trees to the sidewalks so that people wouldn't have to worry about the heat while walking, and lastly don't add stop signs, they're unecessary and useless.

The project is dead. It started 2017 (5 years) ago during Noynoy Aquino. after 5 years this is all done. A stadium and some roads that leads nowhere. I don't want to complain, but I don't want to be optimistic about these kinds of projects. City of Pearl, New Clark City, Clark Global City. Bulacan Northwin global city and etc. They're all dead. Instead of heavily investing in a piece of land to build skyscrapers in the middle of rice fields, why not fix the existing scrappy cities? a country with 110 million inhabitants doesn't have basic urban planning except in very specific areas of specific cities like Ayala in Makati or BGC in Taguig. in the 21st century, there is still no water treatment, no sewage system, and no public expressway or highway. Sometimes it's not good to be optimistic. So you can think that why there is no public project that benefits the country. Why every project that is useful is built by the private sector or public-private partnership? from building a city, or highway and airports to everything you can see. And why everyone is fighting that which administration did better? The political system in the Philippines is like being a sugar daddy. You pay for everything and at the end, they brag about paying for their ice cream.
@TimeMakerDotPH
Жыл бұрын
1. Because "existing scrappy cities" like Metro Manila are beyond fix, there's no cure, in terms of congestion and population density, it's one of the worst in the world. 2. If you mean by "existing scrappy cities" like developing cities and municipalities in the provinces to decongest Metro Manila then it's impossible as well because the constitution stated that Imperial Manila must siphon the regions' tax revenues, funds, and resources that's why for the past 30 years, only NCR and it's neighboring CALABARZON developed while the rest of the country remained backwards. Duterte's federalism is also dead by now and it's easy nowadays to paint Cha-cha bad through black propaganda. Even countries more developed than us are building new cities like Indonesia (Nasuntara), Malaysia (Putrajaya), and South Korea (Sejong) yet here you are, assuming that we can still fix existing things even if our problem is way worse than the countries I've mentioned above. Sila nga nagtatayo, tayo pa kaya. Also planned cities and capitals aren't even a bad thing. It has been practiced for hundreds of years already. Example nito ang Washington DC sa US, Canberra sa Australia, Brasilia sa Brazil, NAC sa Egypt, Berlin sa Germany, St. Petersburg and Moscow sa Russia, Ankara sa Turkey, Astana sa Kazakhstan, New Delhi sa India, Kyoto sa Japan, etc. Even if New Clark City failed as an economic and population center, it could still serve its purpose as a government seat, as the new capital city that would replace Manila.
