Not that you are neccesarily wrong, but s&s chicken from restaurants in the US are cooked with wet batter. What you've cooked is a variant of General Tso's chicken. Personally, I like yours better. Looks delicious BTW. ❤❤❤

I'm living in Thailand, though are many similar Chinese foods here, but none of the Chinese American food I grew up with back in the states. It’s a nice, well presented, and easy to follow vdo demonstration. Even I already know how to make this preparation, I watched your technique, and enjoyed it. I did also notice the use of Thai brands of condiments, so I suppose you’re at Thailand. I was waiting to see the cucumbers being added :) I’d never seen that version until I moved to Thailand, but I really like it. Good luck with your channel!

Would it be ok to use gluten free corn flour ? I’m celiac so it has to be made GF so all the condiments will be GF as well. I’m excited to make this dish as I haven’t eaten sweet and sour for over 15 years. Thank you, you’re a great cook. I’ve subscribed and I’m watching from Australia 🇦🇺🐨

So the recipe for Sweet and Sour chicken is pretty much the same as "Geng dou pai kwat" (using pork ribs instead) and I guess General Tso chicken is also a variation of this recipe cause they'd all taste pretty similar.

Hi Sylar, how’s it going? Yes, there really is no mystery to Chinese sauces. If it’s red color it’s most likely from tomato ketchup or tomato paste. Sour comes from vinegar. If sauce is brown then oyster and or light soy sauce. Plus corn or potato starch as sauce thickener. With just those ingredients you can make a lot of popular Chinese fast food. However, can not discount cooking technique and wok hei. Both of those make a big difference between home cooking and commercial restaurant Chinese cooking.

Wally..can you make Honey Chicken? It was always my favorite Cantonese restaurant dish in Miami🏝 But they don"t make it here in Las Vegas, or Chinatown either? I find that very strange? It's really a favorite for people who live in South Florida! I know how to make it good at home! Most recipes on YT are made with ketchup? I make mine with oyster sauce & rice vinager? Looks really lovely, it’s all nice apart from the MSG 👎 if I have MSG I won’t be able to sleep for a few days, a friend of mine from the Caribbean had a meal that had MSG and it made her really I’ll, but I will still be cooking this, but without the MSG 😊
