I put a comment up earlier and I did this as a Liston guy from the time period. I saw two things I wish would have been addressed and am thinking they probably were on other portions of this series. This is absolutely THE BEST documented video by far on this subject by leeps and bounds. Folks interested in this fight and period should look no further than this complete history.

I was a very active Clay (Ali) fan at this point but…I really researched this KO at that time. It was one of three issues IMO. 1) Sonny’s cornerman had a very interesting take few talk about. He claimed…Liston was afraid of the Black Muslim situation. He said Sonny thought there was a real chance Clay would be..assassinated and he would take bullets as they shoot up the ring. He told his cornerman that he wasn’t going to spend any time more then necessary in the ring. 2) Sonny trained his ass off getting in perfect shape then…it was postponed. He never got back that condition and knowing it, he was an easy mark and got KO’d. 3) Sonny, controlled by the Mob, threw the fight. Can you imagine the odds with Clay by KO early. To me, the most likely scenario. Sonny falling back spreading his arms out?? Not even good acting. Ali wasn’t in on it, if it was Mob controlled. 🥊🥊 btw Blood, this is brilliant..Thanks

You can tell the punch was real because Liston's front foot does not settle before the rear foot collapses.

Man o man, Sonny took and lot of head shots when he fought Louisville lip. I’m thinking Louisville feels a bit of responsibility. That kind of damage accumulates. It’s really sad.

man i love this. getting to see what these fighters had to experience in those envoirnments. its surprising how most of the white fighters still respected the black fighters even tho the atmosphere was racist. i guess they didnt have a choice bc at the end of the day they had to fight them so the color of their skin didnt matter. the way chavalo was hittin patterson behind the head showed a level of disrespect and frustration that wouldnt be allowed today! keep droppin these videos i cant get enuff of this

The fight wasn't a fix Liston would have continued on you can see he was dazed and try to recoup he was defending off punches trying to gather itself not effects
