Some people dont get involved because they know its a losing battle. They focus on what they have control over and become happier being able to build a better life for themselves and possibly their community through their own actions and not through a bunch of goofy politicians and their lies.

I totally understand that. But, societal problems don't usually stay away from us. Regardless, I think we cannot isolate ourselves from social questions. It affects us some way or the other, maybe not consciously. Even I feel stressed, at times... thinking about this.

@@SamSinha I disagree with part of that. Some of us have the ability to compartmentalize things and do it with a great deal of inner peace. I only focus on what I can change and not focus on what external. Most of the things I see has no direct relevance in my life. I choose to opt out of the polemics of politics and be an observer not a participant.

@@Polemic-2525 That's true. It is difficult for some of us. But, I disagree with the part where people say "politics has no direct relevance on their lives". To me, politics is a part of the superstructure created and sustained by the material conditions. If we live in the human society, and witness the same material conditions - we are unwitting participants of the same superstructure.

There's so much more to politics than who to vote for. Hell, you declaring that you'd rather have no government at all IS a political opinion. That's literally a flavor of anarchism.

I’m apolitical due to mental health focus. Politics does not stress me out, but I’ve determined that if I cannot effectively navigate my own life, I have no position making decisions on behalf of broad society. I’m very content to influence people who know me and forge meaningful reciprocal relationships that work for the benefit of all parties. This is not an arrogant isolationist attitude nor one that ignores reality. It’s simply a pragmatic choice of focus.

0:12 Wrong. Nobody will ever say something like this. And, besides. Apolitical does not mean "not believing in political ideologies" that you wanna believe. That's usually reserved for "non-ideological". But apolitical just literally means unrelated to political affairs. That's it. And, also apolitical does not mean "not taking sides". That's usually reserved for "non-partisan". 0:58 It's not even remotely an idea, dude. It's just a matter of fact that there are certain types of people who are not really political. Just like there are certain types of people who are not really into sports. 1:28 So is that the best argument you can think of? Economics that is linked to politics??? Really? Whoppy do. So what? That still doesn't change the fact that not everything is political. 2:02 Who is this "we"? 2:48 But yes you can, dude. So what?😎 3:05 Wrong. It's not everywhere, dude. 3:36 Yeah. But being social is not synonymous with being political. 3:52 Wrong. Apolitical does not mean "being silent". Nobody is saying that they're remaining silent about it. They're just not interested in it, because it just bores them. That's it. 6:45 But too bad that it's not. 6:51 ummm.....Dude. Who is making this argument that news is supposed to be "neutral"? Nobody who isn't invested in politics are demanding their news to be neutral. So i'm guessing that you're conflating apolitical with non-partisanship, because they are not one, and the same. One can still be very political without being partisan. 7:46 Wrong. Apolitical is not synonymous with objectivity, either, because having something that is unrelated to politics doesn't make it objective. So, therefore, nobody is claiming to be objective. So nice try. 😏

Apolitical people are uninterested in politics because it is out of their control. You're right when you say we can't escape politics, but the answer to that is not arguing on the internet, forcing opinions down others and talking about it in every form of media i.e. comics and movies. People become apoltical because politics has become a sport. And apolitical people are smart enough to not get themselves involved in the drama.
@captaincoconut3031

politics is not a sport, politics are a real aspect of society that can affect the well being of millions of people, you miss the point that political reality is reflected in virtually all kinds of media, does not matter how explicit they are. people who are apolitical aren't "smart", they are either privileged enough to afford not engaging in politics or are afraid to challenge status quo.
