It's so hard to believe that this is now 50 years old this month! I was in third grade and I turned 8 in April.

I was today years old when I learned there were propane powered cars in the 70s. Hank Hill would shed a joyful tear.

I wonder what Dennis James' performance would have been if Mystery Price was played on his nighttime version. He would have done fabulous! BTW, Match Game 74 episode for 1-21-1974 featured Joe Flynn, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Linda Kaye Henning, Richard Dawson, and Betty White. and the #1 song in America was "Show and Tell" by Al Wilson.

I'm a real TPIR music maven. The music for the first showcase on the TVPMM site is under Concentration Cue #18 - Car Theme 1 - Concentration '73

The second showcase had 12 products and ran over 2 1/2 minutes. They didn't have a game with groceries, so they all ended up in a showcase!

No wonder Bob had to rush the closing of the show.

I still don’t understand why mystery price was retired. The game didn’t look difficult to understand, the set wasn’t malfunctioning, and the contestant playing it understood the game well enough to win it lol so yeah I just don’t understand

Anyone know why these 70's game shows didn't have copyright dates like sitcoms or dramas did?

Mystery Price wasn't a bad PG, it should've lasted longer, between than Double Digits.

Many of these people are dead by now including the audience members who look like they were in their 40's, 50's and 60's and possible older.

In some ways it was a better world back then there was no Internet with woman hating degrading and or violence made to seem normal and acceptable in millions of homes. There also were no cell phones, no Twitter now X , no KZitem, Facebook or Instagram constantly focusing mostly on teen and women's looks posting selfies to get likes and followers based on it.

Only once, but they ended with the “Ding” sound and then “Losing Horns” plays like “Any Number” did.

My guess for those 2 Showcases would have been the following. 1st Showcase: $4,500 2nd Showcase: $4,000
