Both stars studied fencing for months and months under Hollywood and Olympic fencing coaches; there are no stand-ins for the duel at the top of the cliffs. The two men started by learning the LEFT HANDED moves then crossed over for the right. They studied the old films of the 1930s (Robin Hood, Scaramouche, Captain Blood) to watch the moves of the fencers and tried to incorporate some into this face-to-face duel.

The fact is that a left-handed fencer has a very real advantage over a right-handed fencer. It takes a different mind-set to face someone using the opposite hand but righties rarely meet a leftie while lefties face righties all the time. Now, when two left-handed fencers meet, the best thing to do is disengage and go get a beer. Speaking as a left-handed fencer, of course.

Some interesting facts about the movie: The fencing is real. That is how it would actually look in a fight. When the Count hits Wesley on the head, that is real. Wesley was struggling to fall convincingly, and told him to just do it for real. He was knocked out, and that is the shot we see. We actually get to see him get knocked out cold. Andre the Giant appears intimidating and strong, but his giantism meant he was struggling with a number of health issues that eventually killed him prematurely. They lowered Buttercup onto him very slowly to make the shot because he couldn't carry her weight. Edit: Can't forget the best one. The actor who plays Inigo lost his father to cancer. Apparently in an interview about the movie, when he said, "I want my father back you son of a b*tch!" He was saying it to cancer in that moment.
@TaraTunesIn

Those are great facts!!!! Thank you!! I think it’s so cool that they had to knock him out for real! Makes me respect the actor even more! That’s dedication! Makes sense since you revealed you were Jen Murray’s sister - I’ve seen a lot of her videos and subscribed to her channel, and she gets it too. Such a great film, with these amazing cameos (Billy Crystal and Carol Kane for the Yanks, Mel Smith and Peter Cook for us Brits). And of course the best use of the word “putrescence” in all of moviedom. Can we talk about one of the most forgotten noble men in this movie? Yellin, the gatekeeper of Florin (yes, I mean *this* gate key). Not a royal yes man (“my spies have heard no such news”), and the bravest of all the guards (“hold your ground, men!”). And that facial hair... chef’s kiss.

@@TaraTunesIn The Impressive Clergyman was played by Peter Cook. A British comedy icon in the 60s and 70s whose other output is... less wholesome. Nice reactions to a classic fairy tale, Tara!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Grandpa was played by Peter Falk, best known from the 60's - 70's as "Columbo", a homicide detective known for wearing his raincoat all the time in the TV show and movies of the same name. Fred Savage (The boy in bed) is best known from "The Wonder Years" sitcom in the 80's - 90's. Jen posted a link to your channel during "The Fifth Element" premiere the other day. Mentioned you were doing "Squid Games" which is a difficult series to watch.

That little chuckle when you heard Humperdinck's name ...... I heard one reactor call him "Humpledick", and it somehow sounds less dirty. When I was a kid I saw the rat thing sniff at the quicksand and thought, "that part of the scene is pointless. They should've had Westley fight the rat thing 'cause that'd be cool." And then that's exactly what they did!

Hi Tara great reaction again to another fun film to watch, and surprised no one has mentioned this or you may already know but when Mandy Patinkin kills the six fingered man saying "I want my father back you son of a bitch", he was talking to the cancer that had taken his father from him a couple of years earlier, that's why he was so angry and emotional in that scene.
@TaraTunesIn

@@TaraTunesIn All the times I had watched Princess Bride since seeing it back in the 80s, I never knew that until a few years ago when I saw an interview with Mandy who was talking about that scene in an interview about the film, he said that he was thinking about his father, he said that killing the six fingered man was him killing the cancer that took his father, which is why like we have said you can see so much raw emotion in his performance during that scene.

They knew this movie was a mixture of every genre and silly so the leaned into it hard and made it totally over the top. That's what makes it so great. Yeah. The old-fashioned damsel in distress doesn't play well with some viewers today but they like it nonetheless.

However, if you plan on doing much more content and want something to react to that has been rarely reacted to on youtube (I have no one seen react to more of a couple of episodes), you should try the tv series "Leverage". Hi there Raymond!! Thanks so much for visiting my channel and my patreon page!! To be honest, I set up my tiers with conservative rewards only because I didn’t know what to expect. I was afraid if I had too many people joining the tier, I would become overwhelmed and not be able to fulfill the commitments I had made to my patrons! I do know that one per year doesn’t seem like enough and I do expect to adjust these tiers as I go, to include more rewards, especially once I am able to improve my equipment and spend less time editing and more time recording!! I will also definitely post more content more often and with better quality as my channel grows :)

@@TaraTunesIn How about any of the following; Jaws Lake Placid from 1999 The Mummy The Mummy Returns Both Brendon Frazier movies, very Indiana Jones feel but still original. The Truth About Cats and Dogs, a REALLY good romcom, especially for women who ever felt like they weren’t enough. Blast From the Past is another Brendon Frazier movie with Alicia Silverstone. Very original story and worth watching for the dance scene alone. Drop dead Fred is a romcom that’s absolutely ridiculous but lots of fun if you can get past the silliness of it. A womans childhood imaginary friend comes back when she separates from her husband Jaws Blazing Saddles Space Balls (parody of Star Wars do watch Star Wars first)
