@@FarpointFarms Thanks Check out this electronics company (Lafayette) which was HQ'ed a couple towns away from me, it sounds like the 40 channel switch hurt them. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lafayette_Radio_Electronics "(FCC) expanded a new citizens band radio ("CB") spectrum to 40 channels in 1977. Lafayette's buyers had firm commitments to accept delivery of thousands of older design units capable of only 23 channels, and were not able to liquidate the inventory without taking a serious loss. Back in the day I had an old tube type Lafayette CB that had the huge plug in crystals. I ran it stock on a Radio Shack ground plane antenna & that set up tore up all my neighbors TV’s. Even a guy who went to school with me who lived 1/2 block away said I was clearly heard through their TV watching a baseball game. I did switch over to my transistor radio & problem was solved. But that was a fun radio.

The digital NR filter in the latest mode works in 5 steps and is fully functional. Back in the '70s, we had a neighbor about a half mile from us running an illegal amp on her CB Base station and that was always blasting through our TV completely jamming it. No matter how many times we complained, she just didn't give a damn. It was especially annoying since back then there was no cable and we only got two stations via the antenna. Seemed like the only entertainment we got from the TV was listening to her talk.

@@Hubjeepno, the linear just made the broadcaster using it put out more power. To talk to them, depending how far away from them you were they could still hear you if you just had a good radio & antenna, no external amp. I knew someone with just a 100 watt in his car, finely tuned radio and antenna, it was nice. But these people with 1000 watts + on a home cb, are in my opinion, ridiculous. Back in the day, even a radio peaked to 12 watts would bleed over onto nearby tv, telephone etc. you’d have to add major filters, and if you didn’t, you were the obnoxious one that the neighbors hated.

I solved the problem. The instructions sequence is incorrect. Here is the correct sequence: Long press RB for 2 seconds. should display RB - ON Short press RB to turn RB function. should see RB at top right of display Short press channel selector. Should see OFF - 5. Turn channel selector dial to the right to cycle through 5 selections 1-5. Select a number. Press channel selector again to get out of select mode. You are ready. Press PTT to test. Do NOT press RB again or it will cancel your selection and turn RB OFF To change your selection, press channel selector again.

Does the QT60 really put out more wattage than the Anytone 5555? I was thinking of getting the quad 5 simply because there are U.S based suppliers.

This newer version does. It's 80 watts vs. 60 watts from the 5555.

@FarpointFarms that's awesome! I have the QT40, but it limits cb frequency to 12-13 watts so I've been thinking of upgrading to the 60. I just don't like how it comes straight from Hong Kong. Maybe I can find a U.S supplier.

If you (or anyone) cab get it to work, I'd appreciate any advise on how you got it to work, I did do the mod, so maybe you lose that feature by doing so...tnx

But...I have to cut a wire and move over the jumper ? Or whatever its called. Now I am technical. But I never have done that. But there are video's on KZitem. So , what to do, what to choose. I have to agree with you on this. The FCC moved too slow, and the users of the band moved on without them. It's not unlike the early 70's when people just said "NO" to getting a license. Eventually the FCC came around and admitted defeat. On a side note, many Ham operators are now skipping the license as well.

Then once the bombardment hast come to rest, You arrive on the generic homepage and Was your male to work out where to find this unit demonstrated. The website is far too over workred, with fancy dynamic coding, and there is no simple way to find anything CB related. So this is more feedback of the weblink and website… An actual direct product link would of been far more stable.
