flitcham50 always do .. they are worth every cent... hard working band ... don't know how they do it. But it keeps them active and they must be very fit for their ages

Tony Jackson was pushed out of the group in '64 , supposedly by Chris Curtiswho styled himself the group's leader and wanted more vocals for himself and Mike Pender. Tony was replaced by Frank Allen on bass. In that move they lost their best vocalist but gained a better bassist. Chris left the group a few years later when the Searchers (and most other British groups) failed to transition to the new brand of rock that characterized the late 60's and 70's.Mike Pender left in the 80's and eventually formed his own "Searchers" group. There was a legal case that gave John McNally's "Searchers" the rights to the band name and following that decision, Pender chose to call his group " Mike Pender's Searchers." Both groups are still ;popular with seniors but in the last 10 years or so, Pender's vocal range became a pale reflection of what it once was. McNally's band were great through 2010 (see their 2009 Crewe concert on KZitem). But in the last few years, age has taken its toll -- especially in their vocals. They would have done better to have disbanded in 2010 while they were still musically close to their best. It's a shame to hear them go downhill but that's to be expected when you're past 70.
