Thank you for your peace. Once I took 24 hours living as homeless. The stone I was sleeping on was warm at night. The energy of the sun was inside the stone at night. And at daytime the stone was wet. The energy of the night was inside the stone at daytime. It has been the most beautiful and terrifying experience of life.

My mother's father lived by the train in a small, cheap apartment in his early days. Every night, the Midnight Express would barrel through, waking him up, as well as the cat. Pans falling in the tiny kitchen, chaos at midnight, every night was like this. One night, the train broke down. Could not make its appointed blaring midnight entrance. At the stroke of midnight, absolutely nothing. Pure +complete, blissful silence. Grandfather sat bolt upright in bed, eyes wide, +exclaimed: *"What on Earth was that?!"*

Dear Friends, it's been said that to be blessed with a human birth is as rare as a blind turtle, that swims through the oceans, surfacing once every hundred years for air, happening to raise its head through a single ring that is randomly floating in the ocean.. Even rarer still, is the opportunity to be exposed to the buddhas teachings, to receive a dharma talk, that gives us the insight and instruction on how to practice the teachings, to generate compassion, to cultivate mindful stability and joy. This is like the most precious gem, a gem so valuable it has the potential to end the suffering of innumerable sentient beings, to nourish and guide innumerable sentient beings. Thay Nhat Hanh is an authentic bodhisattva, every one of these dharma talks, as well of the dharma talks of his disciples, are full of compassion, practical instruction and wisdom. Thank you dear sangha, for continuing to transmit and practice the true teachings. I will always support you however I can, as you support me in my practice! love from Toronto Canada :)

I was trying to explain to someone yesterday just how important silence is to me and that through silence, I can heal and look at the world more objectively. My need for silence and calm, is as important as the organs in my body and in many ways, more important, as it rejuvenates the mind and body! I started learning Yoga 27 years ago now, gosh, how time flies and by doing so, my understanding of all that I see, has elevated. It is through the willingness to let go, that ones ability to see beyond the earthly senses manifests and thus, a new form is created! Peace as always...

On boredom: Evolution happens slowly. Change is slow. Mother Earth has been nourishing and developing her children for 4 billion years now. Once upon a time we were just single celled children. Now look! But we don’t because why? Because we’ve seen it before? Nonsense. That’s a bad reason. I used to go to grand targhee ski resort. When you take a right off of the lift about 100 meters down all three Tetons become visible from top to bottom. The first time I saw this on a clear day it was so beautiful to me. However, by the 10th time, it was commonplace to me and no more astounding to me than a budding daffodil. Of course the lesson here is that novelty is not what your soul seeks. Your soul seeks a true appreciation of whatever happens to be in front of it. So if you’re on your way to Niagara Falls, try to understand that you will meet locals there that would be amazed by the novelty of your hometown. Tell your stories wherever you go. You never know who will be amazed by what you think is a common, boring life.

I'm trying to listen to the dharma and concentrate on his words, but there is a woman talking/whispering on the background and that is SO distracting that I simply cannot focus on all the beauty of this dharma... I wish some people were more considerate if what they are doing is chattering through a dharma, or if they were doing some simultaneous translation, that they could be further from the microphone or camera that was filming.

Background noise: It’s usually simultaneously translated, they don’t spend a lot on sound equipment specifically for KZitems because they’re not trying to get rich or propagate; all these videos are free because sharing wisdom and such a treasure should be. As well, it’s a practice. Best to have been there, practiced stopping, experience the change within. The same words are more impactful. That is only my personal experience.
