the version of headstart to happiness near the end is incredible - shivers up the back of the spine. So perfect and joyous.

the hair cuts suggests pre 85 and also Have you ever had it Blue was written well before Our favourite shop and was changed into With everything to lose as Steve White nicked the tune for some lyrics he had, the hold up was due to the movie being held back so it probably is 1984

@@jamesh6487 You're 100% correct. Since they still have Anthony Harty playing bass and Gary Wallis on percussion and Billy Chapman's stand-in on sax, it's basically the exact same line up, and haircuts, and equipment that appeared on The Tube on 19th October, 1984. Therefore I think this is the Alabamahalle gig from 29th October 1984.

They had been playing Have You Ever Had It Blue since 1984. The first time I saw them live in Bologna (I still have the recording somewhere) they did it. It was first published with lyrics by Steve White (With Everithing To Lose) in Our Favorite Shop Lp. It was released as Have You Ever Had It Blue in the vein of the (horrible) film Absolute Beginners, although the lyrics are much older

84 as stated 29th Oct to be precise. Just because Ever You Ever Had It Blue was played doesn't make it 86 :)
