Men like this are taking me back to what God said not what we have misquoted, misinterpreted and misunderstood about scripture. Men like this are the forth tellers whom are 'not afraid of their faces'. We have allowed the worlds view to seep into church by media or by people coming into faith and not conforming to the word but maintaining the old mind. Men like this enforce my beliefs in woman/manhood without compromise and to boldly stand, even if I must do so alone.

Dr. Voddie Baucham is one of my new heroes. I am a Charismatic/Pentecostal Christian and I will tell you that one of the things that frustrates me more than anything is all the emphasis on the gifts of the Holy Spirit with very little to no teaching on things like this in Charismatic churches. This is one of the things that I love about alot of good reformed churches is that they will boldly stand for what the Bible says about things like this. Preach Dr. Voddie!

Women must not think he is talking to specifically about you. Women try to defend this by starting off their statement as "we" meaning they are to blame, I would say listen to the beginning of this sermon , he describes the radical feminist so if you believe you are working in this matter this is for you and you may be the one defending feminism. God expects obedience does He not? Our roles are laid out by God. Shouldn't we be obedient in that? Also like how he is describing leadership in the church. 26:04

Also, again with the upmost respect to Dr Bauchum, I a no marxist, but I do believe that the affects of industrialization and modern capitalsm as we have known it since the 19th century absolutely has had a negative affect on the family and gender roles. Industrialization and urbanization saw women and children moving out of the protected roles of contributera to the family economy in the home (agriculture, cottage industry trade, etc), to be wage-labor workers in factories and other industrialized endeavors. And it was the abuses inflicted upon these vulnerable women and children in the industrialized economy that sparked a great deal of understandable outrage on the part of social crusaders int he Victorian era, out which the suffragist and eventually the feminist agenda was born. And it was greedy, unGodly men that created and perpetuated those environments, in which the vulnerable were exploited and injured, and the family was torn apart from lack of togetherness and having real homes, that contributed to a resentment on the part of women. You add in the widespread drunkenness that came in with the rise in industrialized economies (which of course sparked the temperance movement, also out of which many woen's rights advocates emerged) as well as he slavery of blacks in the Americas (also from greed), from which you had abolitionists (many of whom became leaders of the earliest feminist movements), and by the end of the 19th century I would argue that Godly women had a somewhat legitimate reason to be less than enamored with the job that men were doing in changing the culture for the worse. Out of this frustration arose the suffrage mevement, and out of that rose the more virulent forms of feminism that we see damaging our cultures today. So I would argue that there are sociological factors like industrialization, slavery, and the misuse of women and children in the workplace, that DID contribute to the rise of feminism. I loathe marxism but I dont equate capitalism with Godliness, either.

Industrialization has led to a significant boost to quality of life for everyone anywhere that was industrialized. Before about 1895, the average person lived below what is considered the poverty line. As a result of industrialization and the free market your average person today lives better then kings and queens 200 years ago.

I love and respect Dr Bauchum but I owuld have to respectfully disagree with him that the feminism is simply a result of sinful women standing up to strong men (though that is part of it). Also, the Biblical perspective is that Adam was responsible, ultimately, for Even's sin, for not standing up to Satan and protecting her, but just going along with her deceived ideas. But who does God hold ultimately responsible for bringing sin into humanity? Adam, not Eve. Men are responsible for allowing themselves ot be feminised, and for not standing up to lead. It's not a woman's fault if a man lets her run all oever him- he's supposed to be a man, not a child. Both sexes are responsible for the absolute mess we are in, but I would say that, if the chips are down, the failure of men to lead in a Godly manor is at the root of the hot mess we are in.

Well let’s not forget, mother’s are raising effeminate boys. Despite what many spout, women are not wired to raise boys to men. Godly fathers are needed, other godly men as role models, coming along side young boys helping them to reach manhood. As a single mom of one son and a daughter, I prayed for godly men to assist me in raising my son to manhood. Uncles, granddads, older cousins, pastors and godly sport coaches also assisted. Today, by God’s Grace, Love and Mercy, my son is a responsible, hard working young man, positively contributing to society. Praise God; thank You Father God! P.S. Their dad left us after 18 years for cocaine addiction the last 3 years we were together as a family.

Michael Jacobs My heart is burdened by your comment albeit truth. In each woman’s case, I have wondered how many have a story that consisted of abuse (sexual, physical, emotional, spiritual) by the hands of a dominating male figure, specifically, the father figure. These scars impact every area of one’s being. Yet many women deny the need for the challenging work required toward healing those wounds.
@michaeljacobs4329

@@phanda7877 Thank you for your words. But in one case I'm very familiar with, there wasn't male abuse. But there was generation after generation of women rejecting male and female authority. In the case of this particular woman, her parents split when she was a toddler because of the wife's promiscuity. And although she continued in her promiscuity and drug use, the father wasn't able to get custody until she was 12. By then, the girl had learned many bad attitudes and behaviors. She especially hardened herself against the Jesus of the Bible. Deep down, she's miserable but rejects the One Source of life, joy, and peace. I care deeply for her but can do nothing for her but pray.

I’m with Voddie on most everything. When it comes to woman having other roles besides motherhood, how do we see Gods use of woman in their God-given skills and talents that don’t necessarily have to do with being a mother to her child? And how is a women going to college as her ‘training to be a man’? How is a women to support herself to take care of herself between high school and marriage? Voddie gave a false analogy about woman having passion for the pastorate and a guy having a passion for polygamy - really? I don’t see where biblically woman should be in the leadership role of ministry but Voddie doesn’t address the ‘gray’ of her using her passions/skills/learning to do a profession that is God-honoring.

Oh I hope that was an attempt at humor. Yes, passing skills onto the next generation from both either or both parents is a beautiful design of genetics. However, God’s creation of genetic does not explain and limits the view of God’s full intentions for the skills/interests passions of women. And, even if your theory were true, it’s based on the idea that a women would be having sons and not…say, what’s the word? Ah- daughters ! :) Thanks for the thought.
@elijahcole6786

@@Fhiggsy it's not a joke, that's really the belief here. Women who have passions are to submit those passions to their husbands and more importantly to God. Talent and skill are to be taught to the sons, who will truly change the world as they go out into it. Women remain at home. If they have daughters, they are to learn skills in accordance with their talents, however their primary learning is cooking cleaning and mothering. If talents are lost, the understanding could be that God never intended them to be used in the first place, and they were rather a temptation of the devil to get the woman to leave her place as a wife and mother in the home. She may help her husband using these talents, or apply them in a way that guides the home and raises children. Other than that, only men are to use talent skill and passion out in the world. Voddie isn't joking at all :(

We as Christians need to step up for what is right and honestly I am in stark contrast to what is being preached. I am not going to disrespect Pastor Baucham but I believe this is one man's interpretation of Scripture. There is nothing wrong with a Christian woman who wants to further herself, further her career and do all as unto the LORD (Col. 3:17). This is coming from a man. In addition, there is nothing wrong with public schools. Remember train a child in the way he/she would go and when they are older he/she will not depart from it (Deut. 6). You could still accomplish that with sending children to public schools as long as we train them with Scripture. First off, they will have a more balanced education. Second, they will be knowledgeable as opposed to ignorant. We are not to be ignorant. It honestly perturbs me when someone uses Christianity as an excuse for ignorance. Keep doing your thing Pastor but keep in mind there are many viewpoints that are in the will of God and align with Scripture. The only thing we need is Christ because Christ is the ONLY way to the Father (He says it in John 14:6). Let's be sure to agree on the majors and disagree on the minors.

dahnamics1 Sorry I'm so late to the party, just discovered pastor Voddie a few weeks ago, but let's be honest--public schools stopped being biblical in the late 1800s. Nothing wrong with public schools? Hmmmm... maybe because we still call them schools while we agree to be in disapproval of the government-mandated curricula. Not that I am scouting for any particular ill, but I had to tear a page out of my 6-year-old's homework because it said children could avoid contracting AIDS by avoiding unprotected sex--this in a private school, but publicly sanctioned (obligated) curricular item ill presented. I normally really enjoy listening to this pastor and I will absolutely say he has the soundest doctrine I have been able to find in a long time. BUT some women don't have the luxury of having a husband who is willing to lead and work and provide. Some have been charged with the stewardship of caring and providing for their children all on their own. And let's face it - even for those who do have wonderful biblical husbands - long gone are the days when it was feasible to support a family on one single income. And what about the Proverbs 31 woman who worked with her hands and took her wares to the market and sold them to provide more for her family? And let's face the fact that you can flat out go to jail for not sending your child to school. So if you don't have the money for private school and don't have time for homeschooling because you actually have bills that require money which requires working, then what? You keep your kid home until you're homeless, starving, and finally go to jail for truency and then the government is actually raising your child (God knows how) instead of just providing an education that you could very well dissent anytime you needed to correct it.

That's right and God's word says that I have stewardship to obey regarding my children. Name it and claim it doesn't work unless you rip verses kicking and screaming out of context. You cannot measure faith by the exact means that the devil promises to those who worship him. The Lord has a different will and place and purpose for each of us. We may not like it but we trust that He knows more than we do and His will is always for our ultimate good even when we don't understand why. Let us not forget Job who was stricken with all kinds of tribulation or Paul who wrote in prison, "I have learned in all things to be content." i will serve exactly where the Lord has placed me and trust there is a purpose for it which is to His glory and I will not accept judgement from any mere man for doing so.

Alyssa Bolen it has taken me a long time to learn this and it all honesty it has been to my detriment in my life that lessons have been learnt so late in life. That obeying Gods word yields fruit at the time it can feel hard and a struggle but God really isn’t asking me if I feel like it or if I want to do it. We can go round and round in circles but God is not moved and yes it up to all of us if we follow it or not. The question always comes down too as a Christian who is the master of your life and who is steering the ship you or him our Heavenly Father. Gosh I always think why did it take me so long to learn that if he takes control it works out so much better and I am saying this as a single women of 47 who was so focused on my dreams and aspirations in life who having kids has passed by. Now I am not regretting or throwing a pity party about that, it is what it is and God has brought many blessings in my life but obedience is better than sacrifice.
