My dog 'talks' in her sleep, too. You can hear her under the bed chasing some prey or protecting us from some apparent danger. You can even tell what she's dreaming about to some small degree by the differences that are apparent in her waking communication. Quite different when chasing 'prey', requested reentry, or protection mode.

Everyone should get into lucid dreaming and this is why: •It can be one of the most euphoric feelings •You can go on adventures, either following the storyline or doing your own thing •You can learn to control it • You can use it to help with anxiety and other mental disorders • You dissociate less • It can help with stage freight •Getting rid of reccring nightmares •Facing fears •practicing other skills Just know it's a skill and it will most likely take time for you to have your first one. I found a way to go to sleep easier (for me at least). I have a few dreams I remember, and I start thinking about them. I put myself in that dream as well as I can remember. You're awake but can't move because of the chemicals that don't let you move; sleep paralysis. You see things because you're half awake and what you see in the room mixes with the dream. How to break out of this state? Change your breathing rhythm to signal to the brain that you are awake. And yes you're always breathing you just feel heavy on the chest cause most muscles if not all are relaxed during sleep. Another way is to find a part of your body that you can still move even slightly and move it like crazy. At first it'll feel heavy but gets easier as you become more awake. In my case I can always move my head so I keep shaking my head until I'm awake. But sometimes my head feels too heavy to shake so I just ignore everything and pretend I'm asleep while the monter gets closer to me and without knowing it I'm back to sleep. Just remember it's all in your mind and you won't be scared anymore.

Similar here. As a kid, I had the top bunk. More than once I woke up on the floor, not from falling. Same with my bedding. I do find it funny when I've somehow had nights where I manage to completely, neatly rotate the comforter to where the tag is on the end near my face. In the bunk bed days, my sister used to climb up and bug me in the morning, it got to where I'd just swing without even waking up. One time my mom inadvertently triggered that reflex, and I woke, realizing my first had connected with her nose! That was an interesting morning. Seriously though, I've had myriad if issues with my sleep most of my life, so I can relate. In my situation, I'm not sure exactly how things are interconnected, but I know having night terrors since childhood, talking/walking, moving in sleep, sleep paralysis, narcoleptic type situations, intrusive dreams, etc likely contribute my general mental health. I hope some day they get things figured out.

My parents always talk to me when I sleep and I am able to answer simple questions. But I have no recall of the incidents. There was once when I talk to someone when I sleep and ask them to stay quiet too hahahah

I talk in my sleep everynight, I use a sleep recording app, and all throughout the night. When my daughter was a small child, I would have conversations with her. I would say, "spell cat" and she would. Say "I love you Mommy", she would repeat, I love you mommy". I t was like a parlor trick with friends, but for real. She would never remember.

I can still remember waking up from sleep talking & realized within a minute what it was. Whilst in a dream you cannot remember about an urgency you cannot remember that you had to break the sleep barrier to tell the whole world! I've also woken up to my body trying to activate what I was doing in my dreams.

Well, my comment got moderated. They said tell us your ramblings during sleep. I guess my sort of naughty word got my comment tossed.

Do people lose their ability to lucid dream? Because when I am young, I can lucid dream. I was flying and controlling each scene. But I wasn't able to do when I am older.

For some reason I tell people to "shut the f*ck up" in my sleep, even if no ones talking or no one is there. I scream it too according to people
