When he does his heartfelt stuff (7 summers, somebodies problem, sand in my boots) is where he really shines but the repetitive songs about boots, beer, truck, rinse and repeat make it seem hollow. The thing about comments like “he’s a sad boy” is that most of these dudes don’t write even 20% of their material. When Isbell writes songs about despair you know that’s coming from his heart. When Morgan sings a song about missing a girl it’s because him and 2 other dudes wrote a country hit about missing summer and drinking six packs by the river. Quite literally that happened.

Tell me “now I’m dodging potholes in a sunburnt Silverado, like a heart broke desperado” doesn’t have HARDY written all over it.

I saw him in 2019 and he was the opening act for FGL.., and now he’s popular enough to possibly have more people show up to his concert lol

Pretty much agree with this review. The second disc isn’t my style, but the more I listen to the first disc the more I like it. I would listen to an acoustic album from him alllll day every day, the producers cover up so much of his talent.

I think it would have been interesting to have a song or two about his experience as a new father

I'm so happy you included quittin time, I'm a sucker for sad songs as well and Morgans voice on it is sooo good.

I see your points, but not that you care about my opinion- but I think this double album is awesome sauce!!! There’s so many good songs up here. I like how some of his songs feel classic rockish...Neon Eyes, Sand in my Boots, and Wondering about the Wind. Enjoyed your critique!

Absolutely love the grit of Morgan’s voice, and your descriptions are so well informed and thought out. Loved this video and am excited to give this album a deep listen.

I love every single song on this album! I like more then others but I can listen to his entire album all day, and that’s what I’ve been doing for the last year. Just got my Apple Music yearly listens the other day and I’m the last year I’ve put in 24k minutes worth of Morgan wallens music.

After listening to the whole album a few times Silverado for sale, sand in my boots, 7 summers, blame it on me, dangerous, Me on whiskey, and most surprising warning are definitely my favorite songs

As good as “Sand in my Boots” is and I think it’s the best song on the album, I can’t help but think about Kenny Chesney’s “Anything but Mine”

I thought the EXACT thing that “now im dodging potholes” sounds identical to “in the morning im leavin” and ill never unhear it

I really loved Sand In My Boots, Whiskey’d My Way, and Quitin’ Time. But my biggest surprise and guilty pleasure from the whole album was Dangerous. Idk I just love the sound of the chorus and his voice in it.

Wasted On You is so groovy. I love it. Well, I love almost every other song, too, haha. Also, he has 9 songs in just the top 40 right now! 🤩🔥

Funny how, if we add up everyone's fav song on the double album commented here; it would be more than a single-length album, yet it's criticized for being a double. I say treat it as two albums of the length bothers you.
