Almost three years have passed since the Donald Trump administration first threatened to ban TikTok in the U.S. but was blocked in court. Earlier this month, for the first time since President Joe Biden took office, the administration demanded the Chinese parent company of TikTok either divest stakes in the app or face a potential ban.
