It's A Wonderful Life. Came out the year my Papa was born. We watch that movie every Christmas.

I have seen The Big Sleep, Notorious, The Killers, and It's a Wonderful Life (all great films). I have seen My Darling Clementine, but do not remember much about it. I will have to check out those other films sometime, they look very interesting. 1946 had some great films! Excellent video, thank you so much for making it.

As always, very enjoyable! Too bad The Best Years of Our Lives didn't make it, but it's a personal list, so no complaints. My only quibble is -- when your raise your glass of whiskey or wine, saying "Cheers!", I feel compelled to raise my glass of vodka. At this rate, I will turn into an alcoholic soon)))

Great list! I myself have only watched two films from this year, those being The Best Years Of Our Lives and It's A Wonderful Life (which is one of my very favorite films), but I am planning on watching many of the films you mentioned here very soon. Speaking of The Best Years Of Our Lives, I was quite surprised that it wasn't included! I thought it was going to be either 2nd or 1st! For 1987, I still highly recommend that you check out Where Is The Friend's House? by Abbas Kiarostami, with two extra mentions of Wings Of Desire and Au Revoir Les Enfants. For 1947, I recommend Out Of The Past, Black Narcissus, Nightmare Alley (not the new version), and Odd Man Out. Cheers!

Think you summed up exactly what makes Wonderful Life so great and how that ending is earned. I tried watching My Darling Clementine and could not get into it. Might have to give it another go.

I've been binging a lot of your videos seeing as I recently discovered it. Haven't commented on it yet but your Impersonations of several actors including James Stewart at the end is just wonderful. Well done, Harry.

In the "Big sleep" the young ingénue teases Marlowe (H. Bogart) by saying, "You are not very tall, are you?", and Marlowe answers, "Well, I try to be!"

😊Best Years of Our Lives is one of my all time favourites. Also, a movie that no one seems to like but which I like very much: To Each his Own.

Another great list. I will have to check out the two Italian neo realist films. I always avoided these in the past because they seem so bleak. I don't know why, I enjoy a lot of bleak films. Because I love noir I will mention a few from 1946 not on your list Dark Corner Somewhere in the Night The Spiral Staircase The Strange Love of Martha Ivers The Stranger(mentioned by you) Black Angel And of course I will also mention The Best Years Of Our Lives because it's so great.

Where’s The Best Years of Our Lives? I know lists like this are subjective, but come on! That’s a major omission!
